Or perhaps if not an IQ test, they just need to agree with your opinion.

Would an IQ test not rule out the vast majority of people involved in the professional game?

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I literally couldn’t care less if we had 1% or 99% possession. The only stat that matters is that we scored 2 and Fulham scored 1. Another stat is we have 10 points from six games and are 5th in the best division in the world - thats perspective. There are no easy away wins in the Premier League.

The team is so well drilled, playing for the manager and hard to beat and that is why we win games. It’s a recipe for success. Football is a results based industry and Roy gets results and he is going nowhere.

Pardew was the polar opposite to Roy (for the record I think both managers on the whole were excellent for Palace) but then you’ll get people moaning that we’re conceding too many goals and we’re too easy to beat.

I'm happy we got three points but we all know that being 5th flatters us and it wont last, our last four performances have not been very good at all. Its been fooking hard work watching. Maybe some people are happy to watch this style from Hodgson but I think its s***, away at Fulham and we're not on the front foot after all the time and money we've had in the PL and we sit in and counter (again)...ffs its so boring to watch no wonder my kids can't arsed with it anymore.

We've won 7 games since Christmas. Only 1 by more than a goal.

2 of those sides were relegated.
1 was newly promoted.
2 were drastically under prepared only playing 1 pre season friendly each
1 were the team in the worst form in the league at the time.
The other was Newcastle from a set piece.

Plan A worked early on again yesterday. A Zaha goal and assist bailed us out. Yet still faces criticism from many.

How has Reidewald not had a look in for the last 3 years?

A 2-1 win vs a team just promoted that had the shortest time to prepare for the premier league out of any team in history doesn't vindicate the manager of an established premier league side. But he should be congratulated on delivering a result.

Bring on Wolves on Friday. They've been particularly unimpressive this season. Let's see if we've improved from the 0-2 last season.

TBH I think we were fairly lucky to the result yesterday. Our home form over the last few seasons and performances at the end of last and the last four from this season makes it hard to congratulate him.

You can post your support for anti-football there.

Not sure you fully understand the concept of the message board

Any manager is only six poor performances or results from the sack and Roy is no different. There was also good reason to question him after the end of last season.

His critics were screaming for a change from 433 with three "defensive" midfield players. That he should put Mitchell and Riedewald in the team and that Luka should be dropped.

He's done all of those things, got 10 points from a difficult looking opening six games and found a way to get a tune out of a player who wants out.

The lack of response against Chelsea and last week against Brighton were unacceptable but not enough to justify some of the utter bollocks that has been thrown out.

This post is unarguable save we were an inch and unlucky deflection away from beating the weed 2 0 almost without leaving our own half. The moaners can complain about the quality but I for one would still be laughing

That is the majority of the time he has been in charge we have been outside the bottom three. Given he took over a FdB s***show, a hell of an achievement.

- We were the 17th biggest spenders in the summer transfer window
- In Roys time, our net spend is +20million.

If Roy was to leave, who is going to to work within these tight financial conditions and get results. Who?

We are 5th in the premier league. We have had a better start than Chelsea who have spent 250million. We are 9 points above the drop zone and fans want the manager out. Laughable.

We are in the middle of a pandemic and now more than ever, the goal is to stay in the league. The EFL need a bailout or clubs will go under. If we went down, it could be trouble. So how about we get behind the guy before he retires and be grateful for the work he has done.

Amen

i still love Croydon Roy.

and i also question what proportion of all the critics on here are even proper Eagles ?

there is a smell of Chelscum, Millwall, Charlton & Brighton on this thread. And for good reason, Roy is doing a great job considering the resources at his disposal.

King Roy, Le Roi de Croydon.

the 'Net-We-had' at the Etihad....again

Posters fall into a few different categories in their views.
1. Those who have supported 50 years plus and cannot believe our club has stopped being a yoyo club and see the benefit of Roys stewardship.
2. Those who really chose the wrong club to support, if they expect us to beat everyone in a flamboyouant style.
3. Those who resent us winning and make excuses about the other team being not very good, underprepared or having an offday.
4 The frustrated FIFA football manager player.
5. Those who dont understand the financial side of football and fail to realise we arent going to win the league in the foreseeable.
6 Those who fail to understand teams have bad games and are going to lose, recently Liverpool and Man Utd took heavy defeats.

Well in response to this I've been a Palace fan of over 50 years.
Most of my favourite memories have been outside the top division - the Allison/Venables years that ultimately failed but contained some brilliant football and lots of fun , the second division team put together by Coppell on a shoestring with Bright, Wright, Gray and Thomas, the Championship team with an exciting front 3 of Zaha, Murray and Bolassie and the grit of Delaney and Jedi.
Will I be similarly nostalgic about the Roy years?
I don't believe so.
If after he's gone we get thrashed 5-0 I may wish we were organised better and had a meaner defence on the day.
But I won't feel any great warmth for his methods and I long to get the excitement and enjoyment of watching Palace back.
Where you don't know more or less the exact pattern of every game with each first half being goalless or perhaps just one goal.
And yes, I am being careful whst I wish for.

Being loyal to Palace does not equate to being loyal to Roy.

I've never been in a hurry to suggest he goes but the negative style he insists on, particularly in the previous two games brought me much closer to that view.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.
