We'll have the highest number of MBEs among our supporters than any other club in the land.

HFMBE has got an air of respectability about it.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

Sir Marcus Rashford!

I wonder if he'll insist on adding MBE when a referee takes his name.

And will VAR favour a titled footballer?

Wow. You must have a cracking job.

How much do footballers pay by the way, I would be very interested.

In Sweden you would know as it's all published in a book but I wasn't aware of a similar system in the UK.

50% footballer tax. Plus a shed load of NI etc. [Link]

Crikey, Forest Hillbilly must earn an awful lot if he paid more tax than £408,397.27.

I bow to your great success Forest. May I borrow your massive yacht please.

Not have had

Local Government Secretary Robert Jenrick has today (22 October 2020) confirmed allocations for individual councils from the £1 billion of additional support announced by the Prime Minister earlier this month.

All councils will receive a minimum of £100,000

The government has asked councils to use this funding to prioritise the running of vital services and protecting the most vulnerable and public health.

10 percent to be used for leisure centres

£90,000 doesn’t go far

Are you being daft on purpose?

This extra £1 billion funding will ensure that councils have the resources that they need over the winter and continue to play an essential role on the front line of our response to the virus while protecting the most vulnerable and supporting local businesses.

This is for the whole winter and to cover everything needed for the virus response.

It's gone a bit quiet on this thread for some reason. But I thought I'd share an article I read recently. [Link] One of the four interviewed was ashamed for accepting the vouchers, and says she will be alright anyway. One used them as an opportunity to buy new trainers. One is on Universal Credit and wants a bigger house. And three of them want money for Christmas. One specifically presents for the child. All paid for by the tax payers.

I do realise it's the far right nazi Guardian, but interesing nonetheless.

Systematically dragged down by the lawmakers

Until those in poverty are starving to death working 18 hour days, our job is to monitor their fecklessness for any signs of greed.

You bought new shoes! How dare you! What's wrong with walking bare foot!

You wanted to buy your children Christmas presents! What's wrong with coal?

Dreaming of your daughter having her own room? Who do you think you are, the Queen?

If you are really worried about where your taxes are going, I suggest you look less at the pennies being dished to the poor and consider the billions handed out to ministers' mates since the lockdown.

If punk ever happened I'd be preaching the law, instead of listenin to Lydon lecture BBC4
