Every time I hear that someone has died on the news, they always seem to say "has died within 28 days of testing positive of covid-19" without saying what they actally died from. Scary. But I think this will soon be replaced with the far scarier antibodies falling, so you will get it possibly multiple times. But a vaccine works better than antibodies, so don't get too scared, it's coming soon, well soonish. Within maybe a year, possibly more, not certain though. Even though there has never been a vaccine for a coronavirus.

Antibodies seemed to do ok for millions of years, long before homo sapiens or indeed medicine existed, but now they are not useful. The same with viruses, we wouldn't exist without them, but we easily co-exist with them and always have done. Follow the science. Shield yourselves. Let the young get it, spread it and become immune. Like the common cold is now a nuisance rather than a killer. Nature deals with these things. As always it ever was.

Or, alternatively, live in perpetual lockdown.

So that’s the Herd Immunity idea blown apart then.

Not good.

You just don't understand. Immune systems are not very well understood by immunologists. They will admit so. But we have immunity to many viruses. Nearly all without a vaccine. And almost all with herd immunity. Every year a different strain of influenza comes along. And some people die dispite a vaccine. But the majority of people don't even react to exposure, and if they do they suffer varying levels of illness, most probably dependent on their health. This is how viruses survive. They will evolve to evade either vaccines, or immune systems. But what you are not being told is that immune systems react to ANY virus that is even remotely similar to a previous one encountered. That is why there are so many auto-immune diseases. Antibodies are only produced to counter infection. If you are not infected, you will have no antibodies. What's the point of wasting energy producing antibodies for no reason? You think nature would waste resources? Or keep you healthy by doing the stuff required as it is required? After all, we are here discussing it because of our immune system, and a novel coronavirus will not change that for the majority.

I imagine this latest development will see Countries even less likely to consider the herd immunity route and vaccine and control measures In the meantime will continue to be way ahead for them all.

I can't decipher this properly. Do you mean we will have more lockdowns and wait for a vaccine? Indefinitely? With further lockdowns ad infinitum. Because that is the likely response. Which is madness.

The claims today sound like rubbish. It appears that antibodies do reduce, because serum cannot store all antibodies because there isn’t room for them. But instead they’re stored in the antibody memory bank ready for when needed.

This is so tedious I’d rather those who want to hide away either pay a shed load more tax or survive on scraps or nothing. Yeah we’ll agree to less Covid care or sent to big nightingale places with the army or whoever to follow a care manual. This is a fvcking joke and just proves more and more that Britain is now full of soft beta males and androgynous f&nny flaps.

What a brilliant compromise. Pubs can open until 6pm provided they don’t sell alcohol.

I understand about T cells and B cells but the lack of circulating antibodies places the issue of immunity into the ‘unknown’, which understandably is not a strategy or policy many Countries or Governments are going to pin their hopes on.

Whilst we are still in the grip of this pandemic and with the continually developing picture, the focus of the UK Govt. (and administrations in many of the other Countries affected) will remain targeted on infection control measures until more is known about the viability or success of the various vaccines which are currently under development.

So this morning’s scare mongering tactic is to tell us that the whole country will be in lockdown by Christmas and that the next wave is going to be deadlier than the first despite them already admitting that the level of deaths will be considerably lower than the first wave. Apparently SAGE have stated the death curve will be flatter but last longer!

To put the figures into perspective, Covid-19 was only responsible for one in 16 total deaths in the UK in the most recent week (and that’s if you can even trust how the deaths are measured in terms of whether it was Covid or not) and flu and pneumonia killed twice as many, which also means 13 out of 16 deaths per day are not caused by Covid, flu, or pneumonia.
