Clearly not. He was talking about HO senior management. The good news is Priti showed a clear model of how to be a HO leader.

I was indeed talking about Managers. As previously said I am not defending her as I know nothing of the details but some of them are so arrogant that maybe it was the only way to get them to change their mindset. It is difficult to put across how the senior managers behave if you have not witnessed it, some beggar belief

Maybe Priti has the same view as me! Would not surprise me if there was an element of misogyny but who knows?

She is almost certainly hard nosed.
She has almost certainly taken people to task and maybe even in the wrong way but that is not bullying.
Civil servants and local government employees do not take kindly to real world bosses I'm afraid and I have experience of some of that.
Many of them - not all - love the Compo word remember!
I also run a business and employ people and there are right and wrong ways to do things and I have not always got it right myself but proper workplace bullying - I very much doubt that she has.
This is internal politics at play.
If it had been Cummings I would have believed it!

You say that is not bullying. I guess you need to explain the correct definition to Sir Alex Allan. He said it was in a report that was ‘softened’ and then quashed by the Prime Minister.

It’s not as though she doesn’t have form. And it’s no good saying the receivers deserved it. The review has to be against its own terms. She could have said they deserved it in mitigation but we haven’t seen such mitigation pleas.

How is Sir Alex involved in ‘internal politics’ by the way? He was selected by the PM due to impartiality.

I read it as Boris wanted it palatable but he refused and it reads how he wrote it?
Maybe I misread?
Deserves is not really what I mean - sorry if that was how my post came across.
However whilst I absolutely abhor bullying of any kind I just cannot see finishing the case here.
Time will tell what really happened. Like I said I think this is dislike of her and internal politics at play.

Hmm Shake up at the Home Office. Senior officials to have performance reviews, that's dreadful. Working weekends good god next they'll allow the Home Secretary to talk to junior officials, oh wait...

Welcome to the real world.

What a surprise!

Without opening the link, I thought that would be from the Mail or that other rag.

Anything to support Patel and divert attention.

Crazy world we live in, she also got £17,000 pay off when she resigned over her secret Israeli meetings!

Indeed, they have had performance reviews but usually done by those whose a***es they have noses up so all good. Whenever HS or the like visited us, they had senior managers stuck to them and therefore could not get a true picture from staff. Working weekends is the norm for many public sector workers but the number of managers around was far less than Monday to Friday.
