Thanks eagle and you could be correct, but she has other symptoms (toilet related!) And feels a bit tight chested.
The home test could then be a false negative.
Looking at how far up her bugle that swab went I cant see home or self tests being as effective.
You just wouldn't go that far up or so long optionally. It nearly touches your eye socket I'm sure. I drove her there so saw it, trust me I wouldn't do it myself or I would do it less effectively.
I do wonder if home tests or self tests are the ones giving mixed readings. I take onboard your point and will discuss it with her. R

I know what you mean - had to be tested when I went into hospital (not Covid related) and it sure makes your eyes water - thought they were looking for my brain!

Hope you are all ok and the Mrs recovers soon x

According to Sky the Government’s plans for Christmas include pubs still closing at 10pm but with an extra hour to finish food and drinks.
So pubs can A. Stay open for an extra hour without making any money. B. Serve everyone 4 drinks at 9.55. C. Ignore this completely.

Pretty much. People will just order more drinks and all leave at 11pm on the dot instead.

When it reaches the numbers we're at now, the horse has already bolted. The time to get the biggest returns from any lockdown was at a time where 90% of people didn't see any real problem to begin with. As in weeks before the first lockdown took place. Combined with stopping endless Corona flights coming in. That would've bought time for medical breakthroughs and kept the economy ticking over. A few countries have got the balance right, though of course hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Couldn’t agree more about the flights, why borders were not closed completely, apart from repatriation, is ludicrous. As we were heading towards lockdown, Gatwick were still getting flights from China, these only stopped when the Chinese government stopped them! We have never had complete closure of borders and as you rightly say, too late now

Yes, I can only assume they didn't want to rock the boat with China. Then of course we saw new cases flood in from Italy. Silly as it was inevitable that travel restrictions would come in eventually anyway, so there was an opportunity to take meaningful action earlier.

If you’ve got hardly no chance I’d take any precaution you can if I were you.

Does this mean you'll be taking the vaccine first chance you get Dan?

I think it may be clever. If you want people to drift out rather than leave en masse.
