According to boris limited numbers of fans will be allowed into grounds

So how does the club decide who? Presumably HF get first seats

Get Benteke cleaning and spraying the seats.. then let all the senior citizens have first pick of seats.

What about a raffle,

1st prize - 1 seat

2nd prize - 2 seats

No supporters allowed in grounds in 'Tier 3' areas.

Most HF didn't renew their season tickets as far as I know?

I'll be amazed if it's 4000 per home game - way more likely that it'll be 2000 (tier 2) or even nothing (if Greater London is tier 3)

Season ticket holders that get allocated a ticket will be seriously lucky in my opinion

No.
According to our chairman there will be a ballot of ST holders and the club will ensure that those ST holders not chosen for the first game will be in a ballot for the next one etc. I think he mentioned there were 12000 who had renewed their STs so at a limit of 4000 per game, ST holders will get the option to see 1 in 3.

saw a report earlier, because of tier system the only 2 grounds likely to be allowed open in the prem are BOTH on the south coast

It looks that Croydon may well be in tier 3, so I doubt any supporters will see the inside of Selhurst Park this season anyway.

At least one of the papers was saying something along the lines of that if you cant get enough supporters in the stadium its yet another loss maker for the clubs because of the additional costs involved - Stewards / Police / Ambulance / Concessions / etc etc so it would seem that to some extent having 2000 or 4000 in stadiums is actually worse for the clubs
(financially) than having none at all

I certainly don't see things getting back to normal this season. I think that by the time the vaccine has been rolled out across the population, and its effectiveness monitored, 2020/2021 will be as good as over.

One thing that I have considered is whether the long break will affect attendances once the green light is given to fully open up grounds again.

Certainly there will be plenty of fans very eager to watch live football again. But it has crossed my mind as to whether there could a significant number who may not have that same sense of urgency. So often we do things out of habit including going to watch football matches. Perhaps with the habit broken some will decide that they can do without going to games and save themselves a few hundred quid.

Just a thought.

This is true, I had my season ticket for a couple of seasons and didn"t miss a game, until the club put the renewal up by a mighty 60%, so i didn"t renew. Funnily enough, i don"t miss it, just follow on tv, it was the habit you mentioned, if they had just raised it by something like 20% I would still be going, probably for life!

If we play like against Burnley, Wolves, Chelsea and Brighton I seriously doubt it.
