Returning to the subject matter, my answer to the question posed is definitely NO,NO,NO or as Frankie Howerd used to say "Nay,nay and thrice nay".

I turned on the Saints game just as they scored. The commentator said "Walcott had been largely anonymous before that goal" (which was a tap in really). He's looked ok, but not worthy of a 'told you so' badge yet. Analysts have been pretty critical of him for being over reliant on his pace with a lack of awareness or understanding of how to play football. The way we play, as I said early on this thread, that isn't so much of an issue and I still think he could have done ok here, but once Saints came in there was only one place he was going so the discussion is pretty pointless anyway. Townsend was awful against Burnley, but up until then he has been one of our hardest working players and I wouldn't swap him for Walcott (apparently Andros has the fourth highest number of tackles in the league, which is pretty mad).

He used to room with Gareth Bale as a Southampton junior and used to clean Kenwyne Jones' boots.

Ffs. What qualifications do you have to become a football scout? Walcott was a good player but is now way past his best, ask Everton fans

I see you edited your comment. Your original one was that I am by no means the Guru of scuting and I wanted to reply to that even if you try to move the talk somewhere else (Walcott was a few money investment as he costs nothing and a part od his salary isnpaid by his parent club, not that he would be the next Messi somewhere)

What do you think about me examining the players from the youth leagues in Europe for the European U21 Championship Tournament in 2019 and saying in that analysis thread that "the ONE player I would break the bank for and do anything to sign is Kulusevski" who at that point had only been a youth Italian football player aged 18. He went on loan and 1 year later Juventus pays 40 million for him after being a starter the Italian Serie A season. Yes, a 10 million bid would have been enough when I talked about him. That would have been a 30 million profit for any club that I was working for.

I have concluded that the great and good on HOL would like a breakdown as to how each and EVERY player on that extensive list has progressed !

I can only re-iterate that dear Mattteo provides us with screeds of details of players that are unknown to many but perhaps his posts are not rewarded with consideration by the multitudes many of whom might file them under the category "Ignore".
I suspect many of my posts are filed accordingly!

I actually said you are not gods gift to scouting, which has not been edited it is in my post above.
So what is your job in football? My son has now qualified as a football scout, but chooses not to blow his own trumpet on here, what qualifications do you have? Are you anymore qualified than those that have been watching football for 50+ years?
My son-in-law is Everton season ticket holder, he has more knowledge of Walcott than you and he said he is not worth the expense now, still what does he know?
