The stats don't lie. Palace without Zaha is unlikely to win. The issue is why we have become a team so reliant on one player. It's not obvious that Zaha would walk into the starting XI of any Premiership top six club, but if his heart's not in it any more at Palace, then plan for life without him.
Seven seasons in the Premiership and all the money that has brought in should mean that we can do better than lose to teams as mediocre as Burnley and Newcastle. Why can't we be as good as Southampton? The South London hinterland must be as if not more productive than the south coast.
No doubt more money could and should have been put in. It's always easy to spend someone else's money. Watching turgid football might be palatable if the results are there, but in the absence of points and goals, it is just moonshine to say 'everything will be alright'. When a manager says he is 'obliged to accept the result' you do rather wonder what he has in mind for the coming week's training. Try not accepting it because it isn't good enough! When he says 'we need the midfield to be more creative' either change the personnel or the approach. We must have had a different approach when Benteke scored fifteen in a season. If we are 'stuck with him' then at least let's play him. He can't score goals sitting on the bench.

That's not easy to do when you have the choices we have.
Not one midfield player is able to move the ball forward quickly or travel with the ball at pace with the exception of Schlupp who is limited in other areas of his game.

There's a large group at work who support many different clubs. When the discussion turns to us the general tone is that our squad is old and sh1t apart from Zaha.

I thought we’d beat Burnley and Newcastle and after those two performances WBA is a must win as I don’t see us getting anything from the five fixtures after that. Have a feeling Roy and Ray might be gone by January.

Must be in our DNA we always seem to disappoint against teams we expect to do well against and pull the odd rabbit from the hat from games we don't expect anything very frustrating

This in my view is one of our main issues at the moment. The speed at which we attack is frighteningly slow. The problem is now down to Roy to figure out. We have almost all our players fit so their are no excuses. We need to get Eze into a more central position.

Dann should have been dropped last night with Kouyate kept at centre back, his pace has been a major asset for us all season at the back.

I don’t think the performances were as bad as people are making out. They were both awful games to watch but we could have easily won both.

Without Zaha we are the sinking Titanic, with him we go up and down the waves without really going anywhere, he really should've been sold long before that 0-0 opening game against Everton when he started his pissed off last season tantrum, he needs to go because we are never going to improve the quality we need so desperately throughout our squad, relying on him results in our whole set up ..relying on him.

How odd. Roy in and Wilf out?

Interesting logic. I know what one gives us the best chance of staying up.

Is Roy becoming the English version of Claude Puel?

I fail to see your logic. We're hopeless without him yet it's his fault we're crap.

I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything.

2 dire performances in a week against 2 very poor teams. Nothing positive I can say unfortunately. We don’t look like scoring and defensively we always look like we have a mistake in us.

Bottom line Hodgson is a dinosaur .He was brought in to bring in stability after De Boers sacking This season he is proving even more rigid in his thinking and his team is overloaded with ageing players whose talents are on the wain Parish needs to get his cheque out in January ,offload Wickham Meyer at the very least and seek out replacements for Hodgson and Lexington for next season and our talisman Zaha who will surely leave the club
