He’d get booked for the same reason they always do - not displaying the sponsor’s logo.

If the term "BLM" becomes indelibly associated with politics in the minds of the general public, rather than the minority who choose to see it that way as at present, then I have little doubt it would be dropped pretty quickly. No-one in football would want to be associated with anything political. Not on an official level anyway.

If they become a political party it won’t matter what the public perception is will it?

It is already, isn't it?

Footballers taking a knee might be doing so for genuine reasons but the bigger picture is that the anti racist agenda has been hijacked by corporations including the media and politicians for gain. One would have to question why we even need this anti racism agenda in the first place. Interracial relations has its own dynamic. It cannot be positively changed artificially, and any attempt to do so is likely to have the opposite effect.
It is also really offensive the narrative is that racism is a White problem. Racism is universal where it exists at all and you certainly won't win any sympathy from me by playing the race card or appealing to some sort of strange generational guilt that I am supposed to feel.
I am to too busy worrying about the plight of my kin in a country where my heritage is increasingly seen as poisonous and peoples that have been here 5 minutes get positive discrimination because they constantly fail to succeed when others have few problems doing so, despite the same disadvantage of being a minority.

52% of footballers demonstrating their support for Brexit?
Supporters are not being allowed in by an indulgent club; they are paying to be there or to watch on television.

He’s also said we’re there just to provide the noise and backdrop for overseas viewers. He really does treat normal people in this country with contempt, wrapped up in his wish for more globalisation.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Indeed. Those Nazis with their booing and their lack of respect.

Ironic the the swastika was originally a symbol of peace. BLM may have been until they trashed the wedding

I don't know whether you are deliberating missing the point or just don't get it but this was covered in the first few pages of this thread. It's pretty sad that by page 75 the same thing is being said.

If they become a political party it would only matter if the general public either noticed or cared. All the time that the public perception of the term "black lives matter" is that is a sentiment that they support then the political movement is irrelevant.

At Selhurst today there was a huge display in the old stand with those words in full view. Do you really think our club was endorsing a left-wing American political movement? Or were they just making a simple statement?

That's progress!

As the ONLY thing at issue here is what happens when the football players take the knee what anyone else does and why is an unconnected issue.

This isn't about racism. This is about booing players. Trying to connect the two to try to justify the booing as a consequence is shameful.
