Not a good idea (imo). He's shown this season that he's far more effective in his front 2 role with license to roam.

PvA would be my logical choice as when he plays LB he seems to spend most of his time in a LM position anyway, so why not make it official. Also despite his defensive lapses PvA is probably best placed to support Mitchell.

As for Jairo, personally, I prefer to see him in a CDM position where he can influence the game more with his passing.

It's all a matter of personal opinions of course.

Finally, hope we see Schluppy back by Easter.

Eze doombear Eze! Where does he fit into that plan, unless of course we play him up front with Zaha. Different style of play but might work.

Big loss. An important player for us, he'll be missed. No one else in our midfield is as direct and powerful as him.

Talk or him being underrated on this thread, but I think most Palace fans rate him highly.

Yep and given that none of our so-called forwards are banging them in (Tekkers has got his quota for the season) it would be an interesting option.

I suspect, though, that Hodgson is more likely to go for PvA OR Eze at LM depending on the opposition.

PVA will do his job very nicely, we need to not waste money.

one thing ive noticed about schluppy is that he has on several occasions recently chased a seemingly lost cause to the touchline and has put in a dangerous cross which i believe led to at least one goal for us.

Tremendous effort from him and he does drive forward with the ball at his feet.

Devastating news. Only player garunteed to drive us forward irrespective of how poorly we're playing. Gets goals, assists wins it in the air, beats players with ease, never stops running or chasing lost causes. Our only sure starter along with Vicente, Wilf and Jimmy. We can incorporate PVA to a similar effect, possibly. But this is a massive loss.

I havn’t been his biggest fan over the last couple of years but there has been a lot of improvement this year and we have definitely looked a more balanced team when he plays.

He's been one of our best performers this season. The way Roy sets up he fits in perfectly. I've often been critical of his work ethic in the past, but this season he has been one of our hardest workers and his directness seems to challenge the opposition. The other big thing is he is probably our quickest player in what is quite a slow team.

With Eze ready to step in I don't think the club will look to fill the gap in the transfer window, especially as we have other players that can do a job there if necessary.

we were already short on the wide positions so i think this was always an area we needed more competition.

Andros' form is worrying - just doesn't seem to have the confidence to take on a player and his crossing is woeful - please stop taking free kicks!!!
Still does the odd great thing in a game, but not enough.

His contract is up end of season so if he and Wilf left we have no one.

Still think Bolaise on loan is a decent shout, if only to come on as sub for last 20 minutes. Can play on either wing and this is his club

A great shame. He does bring energy and attacking intent to the team. He will be missed.

Yes a big miss and excellent cover for PVA and the only problem is do you play him at LB or LM. I haven't seen Banks but it would be useful to play him against Wolves.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).
