According to 'Inside Futbal' German club 1.FC Koln are after him, tho albeit in the summer when his contract ends & he takes a wage cut from his €10m per year. Edited by eagleman13 (07 Jan 2021 8.37am)

The stories that he was on similar amounts to Wilf have been debunked on numerous occasions on here.

You do realise that is €192k per week. There is not a chance in hell he is on anything like that despite what that report says. Whatever he is on it has been an unnecessary expense and I agree, I hope he is off our books end of season and can fund the wages of a decent player coming in.

Are people trying to say he is worse than the dross we get served up in Central midfield each week? If that were the case, he may as well give up or go to Sunday league.

He is not only worse than the 'dross' we serve up in central midfield every week, but significantly worse. The lot we use may be one-paced and a little limited, but they compete physically and use what they have got to best effect. Meyer is a total passenger. And from memory, he'd be eaten alive in the Croydon Sunday League!

But Reidewald was pretty similar too. Surprised he hung around. If physicality is Meyer's issue, then surely the others could be the enforcers, him the creator? Anyway, I find it hard to believe he's that bad.

Surprised no German club had come in for previously. Never given a proper opportunity in my opinion given the style of football we play at Palace. Probably a good player but at the wrong club, and perhaps the wrong league (appears a touch lightweight). Had Roy not signed a contract extension and we had a new manager, with a different style of football, who knows. Could be one that got away.

Time for him to move on to a club where his skills can prosper (and that is unlikely to be this side of the Channel)
