The sooner we offload Benteke, Sakho, and PVA the better. And we HAVE to upgrade our midfield (McArthur, McCarthy, Luka, Kouyate), otherwise, we will be the Sheffield United of next PL season.

Disagree. Benteke and PVA still good players who are worth having in our squad.

Sorry mate i dont agree with you on that , the both of them are bang on average at their best and showing no loyalty to the club. If they are so intent on moving on they should be benched and we should get used to playing without them .

His hold up play in recent weeks has been incredible and the only reason we've got close to the oppositions goal in those games. We don't put enough crosses into the box for him to be effective in terms goal return. We're lacking creativity, that's the bigger problem. My only gripe with him is his attitude and workrate, as long as those are on point he has the ability. We'd be silly to let the only target man at the club go

Very well said.

That's fine. That's the beauty of a forum...we can all share our opinions . Interesting you say 'at their best' because for me that works for my argument...at their best, their exception and plenty good enough for our first 11. The problem is, they haven't been at their best recently. Hence the introduction of Mitchell etc.

Also, not sure how you figured they have no loyalty? Benteke's said before he's driven to regain his place and start scoring agian etc.

He has been saying that for quiet a while now to no avail. He has had plenty of crosses to feed on , so I don’t buy into all that we don’t play to his strengths , I just think he has lost a yard or two of pace and doesn’t seem to be able to find space for himself. As for the loyalty part “ driven to regain his place “ he will have to start scoring! Would you offer him another extension to his contract ? I certainly wouldn’t. He and PVA and sacho ( not sure how to spell it ) will leave for free in the summer rather than take a pay cut because of reduced income to the club because of the pandemic , which they are entitled to do so . Any how if they are not going to be here then we will have to get used to not playing them , Mitchel is doing well and so is Eze and I hope Mateta does well .

Benteke is a complete waste of space and we need to get rid of him as soon as possible. If big Sam wants him I hope something can be worked out. Good riddance! And he can take Ayew with him, buy one get one free!

I suspect Mr Hodgson would like Benteke to remain at the club.

I suspect this might be a minority view amongst our supporters!

In general terms a club may have to consider a number of factors if they are approached by a rival for one of their players.

I don't get the anti-Ayew stuff - he's been poor this season compared to last but he was amazing last season, and he worked his wotsits off most games - his form has dipped but he deserves a bit of patience - nine goals out of 32 last season when the team was parking the bus every week is good going - and the goals v west ham, watford and brighton! - I don't see how anyone cud disrespect him so much, he doesn't deserve it even accounting for his woeful performance v Man City (playing as hold up centre forward which is not his game). Looks like we've got the Benteke replacement now, and it will be good to get the big man's wages off the payroll. Ayew is an excellent squad player, competing with central and wide forwards for a first team place.

I see the value of retaining the services of Ayew.
