When I said "some" was on a par with Mr Dodgson, I meant some of it. It doesn't mean I agree with any of it. That is merely your assumption.

Individual performances are not influenced by a manager. How can any manager make Townsend's passing accuracy better? Only the player himself can improve that. None of that is the manager's fault.

Fans go into meltdown after a loss. As simple as that. Back in the day it was a punch-up. Now it's a meltdown on social media.

My response is calm, I admit, as I have followed Palace for quite a while. This is nothing new to me. I'm sorry that you feel my attitude is not one which the pant wetters understand, but that is because you lack rationality.

Passion I have in abundance. I just lack your "entitlement".

I certainly don’t agree a manager/and or coaches cannot improve a players ability. What I is most certainly the managers fault is continually select a player if they are continually under performing. That’s pretty standard practice in any management level. Consistent underperformance must be addressed. There’s no accountability demanded from Hodgson. I can only assume keeping possession or even being able to pass to each other is not practiced on the training field.

In order to be an accurate passing team you need players showing for the ball. Our players are like statues when we have the ball, their movement is zero and thats the main we give away possession so much

I have read recent comments and picking up on a few:
I think we are in trouble.
However, does the chairman see it that way too? Clearly not.

There is no joy or excitement with Palace at the moment- there hasn't been for some considerable time.
Last night, it was great to take a lead, be in front, be momentarily on the front foot!

However, we know the outcome!

Who's fault?

In any organisation, the leader has to take responsibility. Therefore that falls to SP and RH.

Guaita has literally saved us many, many times, but he seems to have lost all confidence. Butland needs to be brought in now.

Mitchell and Clyne in the main, have done well.

I understand why Kouyate played defence earlier in season, BUT he is not a defender- he needs to go.

For us to score we need to create chances. Townsend is at the end. Why is he playing?
Mac works so hard and at least appears that he wants to win.
Luca is not effective anymore and is an accident waiting to happen with his discipline.

Eze is a star in the making. Please play him in his right position. Why is he stuck out on the left??

Zaha is NOT an out and out striker. Please play him appropriately.

We have nothing to lose (apart from Prem status!), so please play Mateta against Wolves. We NEED something different, but we need to create the chances.

Roy OUT- We need a different manager to ignite and save our season before it is too late.

Supporting Palace used to be fun- this is torture!

This is spot on.

Which is baffling. This is the managers and coaches role
To work on these drills and different attacking scenarios. This says to me there’s no plan.

It was every bit as bad. It's just that neither of them stuck around long enough for anyone to get bored of them.

Seeing Benteke make no effort to get to a beautiful Eze cross suggests we have at least 1 player not bothered about playing for the club or manager.
We have an ageing squad of journeymen ( Wilf and Eze excepted), too many players about to be out of contract and no sign of any young blood about to come through, it is a mess.
We are tactically sterile and lacking in the basic skills of pass and move.
The club needs shaking up and if it doesn’t happen I can only see relegation looming.
Roy is not the man to do it.

An interesting post, but I think it is much simpler than that. I don't think anyone is expecting us to be in the top 3, or vying for Europe at the moment. What it is, is the gutless, couldn't give a toss, negative performances that are a direct result of this current manager's tactical approach. I'm not advocating all out gung-ho attack, but would just like to see a motivated team looking like it knows what it's doing with a few leader type figures on the pitch.
Pulis played "anti-football" so it is said, but that set of players played with organisation, heart, and purpose, the total opposite of this current bunch.
It mirrors the England performances under Hodgson, clueless, despite having a decent set of players to work with.
Palace are currently are in that phase under Hodgson.

Exactly, and tonight, Burnley, playing 4-4-2 like us came back twice and went on to win because they believed in what they were doing and fought all the way to the end.

You may not agree, but you are wrong to disagree. Encouragement is all a manager can give when a player is over a certain age, as development is beyond the player's capability. If Townsend was 20, he could be improved. But now, he will never increase his speed. He will become less accurate as he ages. As for selecting players, who replaces Townsend?

Your assumption of practice on the training field really reveals your limited knowledge of football.

Hevent you forgotten....
Roy sets up the team
He train the players in a certain way
He sets up the formations
He lays out the tactics
The players are told to play a certain way.
They are bored "sh.tless" playing this way
OH Boy doesnt it show!
Roy has to accept the blame..

Midway through 2nd half the match last night, Wilf is so frustrated hes kicking the ball directly at their players...

What entitlement? You think it’s fun to insult as many palace fans as you can under the pretence that you know best which having read your posts give me no confidence of your knowledge whatsoever in that respect.

Of course managers are responsible for individual performances. It’s called man management, understanding form and team selection. If Townsend wasn’t on the pitch to start with then he wouldn’t have been able to give the ball away 22 times. Whose decision was that? He has been shocking recently but our manager just does the same thing with the same players every week hoping for a different result.

I really don’t get what you are trying to prove by your failure to acknowledge any fault of the manager for anything. It is not pant wetting which is a vile insult anyway and one you should have grown out of using yourself.
