I think Riedewald got himself out of jail a bit with his goal and, fair play to him, went on to have another good game. But his part in their goal was really poor. Complete lack of bravery.

I’d still have him in instead of milo. Blokes a liability

A very pleasing result of course, fighting back after going behind so early in the game.
Concerns of course about the Zaha injury and our injury situation in general.

Thought Luka was very good this evening and Saturday but I agree he hasn't been great at times over the last twelve months particularly without the ball.

Disagree the schlupp keeps him out of the side. Like Jeff but he looses the ball just as much as eze. Eze offers something different, the way he carries it forward with ease is top class and his delivery tonight for cahills goal was quality. Essential for me

Of course I'm not saying its necessarily one or the other. Jeff might lose the ball a bit but its due to how much he's involved. He gets us up the pitch and forces things to happen, stretches teams in a direct way and scores goals. Plus he's great at defending. Eze is a luxury that if not involved as he wasn't second half today, could potentially cost us. He needs to work harder and impact the games more - or learn to defend

1/6/2010.a new era.we made it everyone!!!lets get the ball rolling for another 105 years of proud history.thank you cpfc2010.

palace forever.eeaaaaaaaaaaaaaggglless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1) Townsend should donate two weeks' pay to the Academy.
2) What do announcers (and Roy) see in PVA that I don't?
Mitchell is not as dynamic as PVA, perhaps not as skilled, but he is far more reliable. Mitchell plays within himself whereas PVA plays as if he were 20 years old, world class, and the sun is always shining and the pitch is always firm.
3) Bats should donate two weeks' pay to the Academy and retain the services of a hypnotist who will train him always to remain onside.
4) I still can't believe there's not a better captain than Luka.

Nevertheless, I'm feeling almost Glad All Over.

He was absolutely dreadful.
Strolled around, lacked effort, made half-hearted attempts to close players down and of course strayed offside.
I have been a supporter of our club since the 60s and have witnessed some truly dismal performances from our centre-forwards but Batshuayi's performance tonight was one of the worst.I was delighted when he was removed from the action.

He has looked better with Jairo alongside but he could easily have been given a red, for a ridiculous tackle

We were organised and restricted Newcastle to very little.

Would have expected more from them though.

MOM Jairo for me.

Bats should have a device fitted which administers an electric shock each time he strays offside.

He's a funny one Riedewald. He's built like a heavyweight boxer, so much so that he seems too heavy and slow when trying to get around the pitch, yet he doesn't really punch his weight. It's not just s***ting out for the goal today, he doesn't seem to physically dominate ever, or really try to use his bulk to his advantage.

On the flip side, he caught that shot very, very sweetly indeed, and picked thier defenders pocket for the Townsend chance as if he was a young Ryan Giggs.

In between he was fine. Not an obvious improvement on the usual suspects, but not worse than them either, and as he's ten years younger than McArthur it makes sense to me that he be phased into the side permanently now.

Thank Christ we structured the Batshuyi deal like we did. Imagine if we'd have been able to afford the £20m last summer?!

Doubt we will see him start again, unless injury crisis gets worse. He has had 2 games and shown nothing, at least Benteke wins a few headers and has some nice touches.

I am being deadly serious. Of course his pass accuracy is 90 percent . He passes the ball backwards and sideways to the nearest man then the rest of the game just passes him by. You may think I am just saying this for a reaction but watching him floundering about in midfield like he’s wearing lead boots is pitiful.

Clueless. The guy's composed and quality.

We seem to enjoy being boxed into tight areas involving half our team without the foggiest idea of what to do with the ball, why can't anyone look up and switch play away!

He’s played in a 442 plenty previously this season.
