Devoid of purpose and energy. Why when your two down you still need to have 2 holding midfielders? When Lula was SO poor why didn’t he replace him with Kouyate and push Jairo forward ? Maybe a new Manager bounce might see us pick up some points - oh now wait a minute we’re supposed to be grateful we’re in the league watching this frustrating, limp, unstructured dross.

Reason being the defence is so poor and the two in the middle of midfield aren’t good enough to protect the back 4 and help the forwards out. Why have we changed our system with such an old team to try and play more attack minded when we have an ageing midfield and defence? The forwards get no decent passes and if they do get it the opponents have got back into position. Then we lose the ball and those ageing midfielders can’t get back to help the defence - grrrr!

Yes hope they pick Mateta on Saturday against Burnley. Drop Ayew Difficult to drop Ayew when we simply have no alternative attacking options. In fairness Ayew always put in a shift and carries the ball well. He just doesn’t look like he’ll score in a month of sundays. Then again, neither do Bats or Benteke!
