All utter fantasy.

We have no money and cannot afford to build a house let alone a stand.

May as well fly a pig over the Arthur.

Could we loan a new stadium with a deal to buy it in 24 months if we like it

Sorry, I did edit my last post to better address this. The six houses must be new ones in every sense - ones that have already been approved, even if not built, will not be eligible. We have to provide six absolute virgin houses in every way!

The reason for this is that to meet its government targets the Council has to show how many new houses it has approved through the planning system. If a developer has already got permission for 10 houses somewhere, and we buy six of them to hand to the Council, the total number of approved new houses will remain as it was before. We need to add to the total number of approved new houses by six.

There are lots of faults with this system of course, not least that the Council can approve planning applications for thousands of new houses, but that means nothing if developers don't actually build the houses which have been permitted. That happens, for a variety of reasons.

But that's another story!

You've shared some good stuff today.

Although, the houses is just pointless political medalling.

Croydon is well on track to meeting its government target.

What would be better, is if the council got the club to do some enabling works so a development could be built somewhere. Land remediation or highway improvements for example that could turn a plot of land from something uneconomical to a site that is attractive to a developer. Or, they could help fund the borough's planning department to push through more developments quicker.

As other posters have pointed out to varying degrees, if the club have to provide a completely new dwelling, as some stage they'll need to do a deal with a developer to push it through. If it's economical then there's no reason why a developer wouldn't just proceed themselves. Essentially all that will happen is the club could guarantee funding for a project rather than a bank, but moneys so cheap at the moment there's not much point in finding an additional source of funds. On top of that, its just extra activities that have to be pushed through the planning process and will create additional delay. Delays result in everyone losing.

Well, we were promised £50m ring fenced for the stadium by SP so what do you make of that, fact of fiction? Not judging, just saying what we were told.

There's 100m ring fenced in a separate company account.

We have always been promised many things in relation to our stadium most of which were untrue. (I remember the celebrations when the last chairman was so clever that he purchased the stadium from Uncle Ron.)

If we have all this money just sitting there (in an offshore bank account no doubt), why have we seen no sign of any improvements to our ageing temple. (Not just a new stand - so don't just use the blame Sainsbury cop out.)

I still wonder if this is all part of a plan to boost the value of the club for sale as a club with PP is worth more than one without.

Is that something that can be demonstrated? Is it publicly available in some way?

Fairly certain we are coming up to 100 years at Selhurst, is it too much to ask for the new stand to be built by then

I doubt its a good idea to tell our own fans how much money is in the business.... let alone rivals and clubs of transfer targets.

Based on the businesses they have engaged and all the work done. I'd be confident that this isn't a PR stunt. We've probably spent £2m on consultancy and design already (this is a wild guess).

i don't think it was however I think Parish has been let down badly by our American owners who were brought on board specifically to invest in the new stadium. They knew this would take years before it would start and when push come to shove they decided they no longer want to own the club.

I bet Parish regrets ever agreeing to that. Still it could be worse Burnley's new owners have used the club's own money to buy it immediately saddling the club with huge debts at least the septics haven't done that.
