Call me old-fashioned, but I don't like to see our skipper wearing gloves. Somehow, it doesn't seem very warrior-like.

I did notice that all the Burnley players were wearing short sleeved shirts whilst ours were all well wrapped up against the elements

Glovewearers why ??
Shouldn't need them or be allowed to wear them- ought to be running around, working up a sweat, thus getting warmer and not feeling the cold.
Oh hang on, our players !

Sofiene Zaaboub who used to play for Swindon quite a few years ago, used to wear gloves in every game due to a superstition.

They are hardened northerners while our players are soft southerners. The difference in the two teams was obvious. One team wanted to win and the other couldn’t give a s*** because come what may they get, in some cases, their 120k a week.
I feel ashamed and Robbie Earle on CBS who I was watching was 100% correct in his verbal assault on Palace as a club and the players in their attitude.

Agree.

No gloves. No long sleeved shirts. No beach balls. No pink or bright yellow boots. Players earning more in a day than I earned in a year.

The game needs to return to it's roots. No substitutes. A bloke with a bucket and a cold sponge. Muddy, quagmire pitches. Heavy, leather balls. Brown, ankle high boots. Players being paid a fiver a week - and grateful for it.

Just don't know what the world's coming to!

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Who the f*** cares if players are wearing gloves. It's been f***ing freezing. Such a strange attitude to have, 'our players are wearing gloves they must be soft and don't give a s***'. Running around and keeping warm won't make a difference to keeping your hands and feet warm.

When playing footy in those conditions I'd be in gloves and 2 pairs of socks.

But the fact is yesterday they were as soft as s***e and looked like they didn’t give a s***! That you can’t deny.

Agreed, but the idea that wearing gloves points to a certain attitude/performance is ridiculous.

We were s*** cos confidence is low/too many injuries/too many old players/manager insisting on a s*** formation.

If only not wearing gloves would solve all our problems.

We finished 3rd once and I’m pretty sure no one wore gloves that season(apart from nige) so there must be something in it
