Before I could talk my parents would constantly play The Pioneers' Long Shot Kick de Bucket because my reaction to it amused them.

Once I could talk, I demanded they get me a copy of this...

And once I started earning my own money from my paper round, the first single I bought was See You by Depeche Mode.

My Father-in-Law caused some confusion in a record shop when he went in to buy a single for one of his kids by asking for “Pick handle by that feller The Angel” when she’d asked him to get her Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel.

Lots of good ol' reggae anthems were on that label.

Incidentally, I occasionally went to Stamford Bridge in the late 60s and Liquidator was the music adopted by Chelsea to come out onto their pitch.

How strange we've got so much in common. I confess that I had a few visits to the Bridge too. A customer of mine was a lifelong ST holder there in the days of the old Shed and we had some fine lunches in their restaurant before matches.

He was also very proud of the fact that the balcony of his apartment was covered in a piece of artificial turf from their pitch that he acquired after they disposed of it and reverted to proper grass.

True, it was the red Indian.
He was in the new lineup that re-released the song in ‘99. They had a press conference for it at the YMCA gym off of Tottenham Court Road when I was there taking my gym instructor certificates.
