I'm from Bromley so will say no.

Bromley ranks 21st with a composite score of 103.2. Croydon scores 100.7, West Sussex 101.6. Wokingham is top with 110.1 and Blackpool bottom with 86.4.

My word, I have had some enjoyable nights out in Bromley and district when I was in my pomp.

I grew up in Bromley...best nights out for me were always in Beckenham.

Bromley had little going for it back in my day and I got out as soon as I could.

I Still have family and friends there, and I worked at Direct Line on a contract in Bromley a few years ago. I like going back for a visit but don't regret leaving

I used to frequent 'Biba's' nightclub in Bromley back in my lothario days and in relation to Beckenham ventured into the 'Three Tuns', 'The George', 'The Beckenham' and the 'Lazy Toad' not forgetting Lautrecs/Tites.

A bit further afield I recall some pleasant visits to Chislehurst in the 'Tigers Head' and 'The Bull', also the 'Bickley Arms'.

My word, there used to be many pulchritudinous young ladies in these establishments ! Such pleasant memories!

I don't recognise that name in respect of the Bickley Arms.I believe I spent time in there in the 80s/early 90s?
From memory there was only one bar and the bar area was immediately opposite the main entrance.

I have just recalled that I also used to frequent 'Sullivan's' in Bickley which I believe is now the 'Crooked Billet'.

The problem with the question is that Croydon is so big that you can hold differing opinions on it. I live in Coulsdon and have to say that I am rather fond of it. Has a good community feel to it, some good shops, a few nice restaurants and cafes and whilst there are some issues, all in all, it ticks a lot of boxes. Good transport links and so on. 20 minutes to Gatwick, 25 minutes to London Bridge. Would happily base myself here for the rest of my life.

But central Croydon, I would happily never visit again in my life. Just depressing as hell now and no real hopes of it turning around anytime soon. Miserable experience on a multiple of levels. I had to go there on the Saturday before Christmas because of a family issue. Drove straight into one of the main car-parks at 9.00am and found a space straight away. Back in the day, you would be queuing to get in before 8.00am.

Now I get Covid and all that but even so, it was dying before this wretched virus took a grip. But now? It's on life-support and even that is the charge of people who don't have the money to keep on paying for the electric.

I’ve been living in East Croydon for 10 years and love it. Never experienced any problems.

As far as I’m concerned, we have a great choice of bars (particularly in and around Surrey Street) and a lot of restaurants in South Croydon. It’s densely populated and has a business hub which is great for my work, and the commute to central London is less than 20 mins from my front door. Crucially, I can even walk to Selhurst Park, although I tend to get the 3 minute train. In my block of flats, we have a real community spirit and everyone gets on well. Lloyd & Park Hill Parks are particularly nice in summer.

When we have a night out with lads, it’s usually Croydon these days due to variety of good bars and it’s transport links.

Crime is high and always in the news, but the reality is that its usually gang/youth related and is easily avoidable.

For me, the big negative is they way the high street has been allowed to deteriorate. Sadly, I think this will be more common around the uk as people now prefer to shop online.

I can understand why it’s multiculturalism and population density doesn’t appeal to all, but I like Croydon.

I think this is fair enough....though when we say Croydon, there are very different parts (though how long will that be the case).

Anyway if you like living in modern day Croydon then I'm happy that you are happy.

However, plenty of us don't and we object to those who wish to expand and force others to live as they do.

I managed to escape from Croydon in 1965 when I joined the Army at 15 years of age.

Most of my t 26 years in the army when not abroad were spent in the spent in the Southampton / Portsmouth area.

Settled inn Gosport and worked at Southampton Airport. For 18 years

Never stopped supporting Palace in all those years.

Got a season ticket when I retired in 2010

Still have family living in the adjacent areas of Beckenham and Biggin Hill.

I think Croydon's great, I moved away for 10 years to West Sussex and couldn't wait to come back, I wouldn't live anywhere else on the Country even though I'm 57 this year.
The countryside and coast is boring and only worth a day trip every now and then.
