Shaw barged him needlessly and it obviously hurt!
Maybe he said something as well?
He was certainly out for blood that's for sure!

Looking back I see the match, unlike many who are ecstatic for the point, a lost opportunity.

United were obviously under par and if only we had just one creative midfielder on the lines of Keith Andrews, Jonjo Shelvey, Michael Hughes who could keep the ball and allow our forwards to move into space we could have got the 3 points and the kudos for doing the double.

Instead, the usual get-rid-of-it-quick, backwards pass, high hoof and playing to a marked forward
syndrome that has blighted us for the past few years.

No wonder we can't score and rely on something exceptional to do so.

Please tell me why Luka is still captain instead of Cahill and leaves free kicks to the more skilled Eze ?

I actually thought we had more possession than in previous games and it wasnt a "backs to the wall" game like the last two games for us and felt we actually went toe to toe with united. we tried to work the ball.

I do agree a more creative midfielder would have given us that extra little bit! clean sheet against one of the higher scorers in the league tho is very good!

Just my opinion tho!

It’s takes something to get Chek wound up, he is normally very placid and laid back.

I thought that was a crunching tackle by Ward on Shaw in the first half, it was a cracker...

All things considered, a very good result.

It's interesting that on Saturday we treated Fulham as if they were Man Utd with a very negative cagey performance and yet, against United, we showed a bit more adventure, and with some better finishing could have even got all 3 points.

Another good showing from our defenders!

Probably on Saturday we felt we mustn’t loose while yesterday we didn’t feel that same pressure. Maybe from Roy ?

Very pleasing point and one I did not expect us to get. It's good to note that we have now kept two cleans sheets in the last two games. Sunday we be another tough game and hopefully we may have one or two of our injured players available for that one!

Really good left backs are fairly scarce beasts. When he leaves we will probably miss him at some point next season - unless we can get a decent new one to give Mitchell competition and cover.

Reece Hannam perhaps?

My suggestion also, as I've posted elsewhere. He's only been with us since last summer and was on the bench for the last two games. He's just been given and extended contract as well. Clearly the management want to encourage him. When I've seen him in the U23s, he's looked very promising both defensively and in attack down that left side.

Yes. I was a bit annoyed Neville said he’s left one on him there. It was a damn fine traditional tackle and just because Shaw goes down hurt doesn’t mean it wasn’t fair. It’s obviously how the ref saw it too as he gave us the throw. I thought the ref had a good match. Didn’t miss much.

Eze is one of those players who it will not always work out for him but when it does it will win us games (Leeds, Sheffield Utd, Wolves are most immediate examples for me).

He’s what I’d describe as a ‘game changer’, didn’t quite do that tonight which can be noted but I’d be extremely reluctant to criticise him for it!

I think our problem is that we have few creative players who are a threat. With Wilf off the only one left is Eze (Ayew to a certain extent but he gets the same treatment) so they focus on him and foul him anytime he touches the ball. Most players in the league are expert at that negative type of play.

So, he struggles in games like this. The attention he pulls should free up other players but of course, we don't have anyone else that can take advantage.
