She will be used shamelessly as are all the other high profile Black people.

I have less than zero sympathy for the stupid cow and her under the thumb husband. He has betrayed his family.
It is inconceivable that neither of them knew how their relationship would go down with the Royals.

Rank stupidity followed by calculated attention seeking.

Maybe so, but does that excuse any of the alleged behaviour? Or make it fair game because they'd have been expecting it?

I've not really got much joy for either party, frankly – the monarchy was always going to become less and less relevant in a system where power lies with parliament, and in a world where 'Empire' no longer exists. They are like a fancy German shelf ornament – mostly forgotten about but occasionally glanced at to provoke a nostalgic, rose tinted memory of the past, or taken off the shelf and briefly held to show off to friends, before being put back again to gather dust.

In short, the power and meaning they once had (in current terms, not historical ones) evaporated a long time ago.

Their very existence is completely at odds with what they've tried to fashion themselves into – they have tried to make 'good work' the cornerstone of their reason for being but it's undermined by the very reason how and why they exist. Someone mentioned the hypocrisy of a millionaire talking to a billionaire about social issues like disadvantage, inequality or whatever... they're right, but to me the same logic applies when the message comes from them. If anything it's even worse as at least the millionaire and billionaire have had to work to achieve, rather than be immediately granted the spoon as part of birthright.

It's an unsolvable issue even before you realise the fact that they're all surely still very much set in their ways (protect the ideology! Toe the line!) and about as easy to turn towards any semblance of modern relevance as a grounded oil tanker.

The monarchy have played an integral part in who we are as a nation, but the role they had historically is so different to the role they have now... sometimes it doesn't help to flog a dead horse.

I could see the Queens death being the end of it in its current form – a brief period of uniting everyone before things start to unravel. Especially if Charlie boy doesn't step aside and let his willy take the throne, and even more so if said willy reverts to type rather than moving with the times. The media will turn and then it's game over.

It's basically – well, we got what she stood for and how hard she worked... but she had a legacy, a body of work. What exactly is your role? Why are you relevant? How can you lecture us on social issues etc. etc.

Then you've got Hazzle and Mejazzle, one hates the media and probably the entire stuck in the mud state of the RF (and the HF, probably), and the other is likely on the extreme end of the leftist spectrum AND with black heritage so will be even more (understandably) paranoid, plus has a driven ambitious mindset and will milk the cash cow for all it's worth. the Royal Family is not the place to be if you've got imposter syndrome.

Essentially, they're both as bad as each other IMO.

Of all your many posts with dubious reasoning, this one is a classic.

There are no "white" institutions other than those that persist in the minds of people like you.

Meghan didn't choose her skin colour or decide how others would react to it. Harry didn't choose to be part of the Royal Family. Why should they behave in any way other than that they both wish to, whatever the "Royals" think? In speaking out they might just be shining a light on racism where leadership is to be expected.

It seems everyone has decided that she is a mercenary determined to milk a Royal and he is too stupid to realise it. Is it true? Has anyone posting in this thread ever considered that perhaps they actually love one another and consider that to be more important than anything else?

“The characteristic danger of great nations, like the Roman, or the English, which have a long history of continuous creation, is that they may at last fail from not comprehending the great institutions they have created.”

The Monarchy IS Great Britain. If it goes, we lose our identity within the world at our own peril and would undoubtedly disappear in importance and shrivel to something equivalent to the size of our country, that is in short, to become relatively unimportant.

I cannot agree with your view.

if that is the case then why don’t they just keep their mouths shut, show a bit of respect and get on with their lives in their new found home?

There is racism in some people, but not just by whites, blacks asians chinese etc ALL have racists, this constant waving of the race card is going to have unintended consequences, they are going to polarise views and increase racism because it is, you are either with us or against dialogue, lets all be victims, tells you all you need to know about meghan, just ONE of her entire family attended her wedding, buts its all their fault

Let's see:

A narcissitic succubus with a victim complex makes unsubstantiated (and unverifiable) claims that paint her as a persecuted victim whilst ensuring the spotlight of the world is on her.

Like a pig in s***.

They can both go and rot in LA for all I care. The Royal Family should not so much as dignify this with a response, but ensure behind the scenes that absolutely every single bridge is burnt to a crisp.

Never dip your dick in vemon, gents.

You would have to ask them that but it looks to me as though they both feel so upset with the treatment they think they have been given that they have a duty to expose it so future generations won't face the same issues.

I know that many posting here think that there isn't a problem to be solved and that those seeking to solve it are themselves the problem. I think they are wrong. The world has changed and has indeed "woken" up. Which has to be a good thing. Much better to be awake and aware than asleep and in denial.

Haha. Absolute censorship

Look, it’s clearly a self interest play here from them, in all its gawdy splendour

But self interest and protectionism are the cornerstones of the monarchy. One can’t have ones cake and eat it

They’re out and clearly don’t want the palace to be the sole point of information about why, for them to own the narrative. They want to have their say. Personally I wouldn’t have done it this way as it reeks of self absorbed commercialism but at least they don’t appear to care

The treatment they 'think' theyve been given is clearly alone in their heads. When you say that its clear your hoping for an expose of what 'might' have happened.
