On paper this sounds like a good ruling but it's only partially a good thing.

The age restriction is wrong these type of people need to be under treatment before 16 you can't have them going through full puberty this is terrible for them physically but especially mentally.

The other thing is the system is not quick so if you make them wait until 16 well they wont be on any treatment until around another 2 years later they may also need to fund it themselves by this time the stats show suicide etc rates are very high for this group

12-13 is more realistic age and it's not as if they just let people switch it requires a lot of sessions to access people by psychiatrists

The whole argument about 14 year old etc doesn't understand is complete BS you see a fair amount of this age group having children themselves it's just now days it's all about keeping them in comfy blanket and nanny them.

Western institutions and media have been feeding children this nonsense on gender for decades now. It's part of the attack on the traditional structure but I won't harp on about that.

I think you made plenty of good points.

Personally I'd only allow a 21 year old to make these decisions and only after years of treatment that promoted traditional rather than transitional gender.

But that isn't going to happen and in my view, many lives will be damaged and destroyed by these anti normative idealogs.

A good step, BOYCOTT STARBUCKS

Can I ask why? I never saw any connection with this. Just asking.
I mean, I'm with you on Boycott Starbucks, even though when they started in Sesttle they were fine. But I just never heard any trans thing.

Didn't know that, excellent to hear the Guardian wonkers turning on one of their own

Maybe not but an awful lot of good people have been trolled and de platformed and even lost their jobs. Top reporter at the Guardian was driven out last week because of mild criticism of the Trans lobby her own colleagues turned on her.

They are a bigger threat to free speech than the far right.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

Well that didn't take long did it.

I started this thread in December with a prediction that the management of Tavistock would eventually have to face some serious questions.

They have been sacked.

Too many rumors about the place being hijacked by Trans activists.

I am not against people transitioning but this process needs to be managed by staff who follow the medical evidence not their own beliefs.

Hopefully some sanity will now be restored at this important place.

I know someone who's recently come out as transgender. Changed there name to a male name and the he/him pronoun.

I'm pretty certain he had a hormone imbalance and has been thinking about this for a long time and the Starbucks advert is a pretty fair reflection of what he went through. His previous name certainly didn't suit her. That said, I think he doesn't really fit within either gender stereotype and is probably has more in common with females than males than he realises. I think I've finally understood why they call it a gender spectrum. Addressing issues with gender stereotypes is more important imo.

Whilst I'm pleased for them, I'm also sceptical, previously there were a lot of mental health issues, unstable home, bullying at school (by girls), ADHD, drug addiction, abusive ex boyfriends and homelessness. There was a suicide attempt a couple of years ago, partially triggered by a secrete relationship with a rich older married guy posing as a white saviour type. From what I know, that was back on in secrete and has only recently been ended again.

In a way, the sadness seems to come as it feels a bit like a friend committing suicide, in that they have just ended everything that was great about them.

I wish him all the best for now, but hope they see how it goes for a while before any meds or operations that can't be reversed are used. Knowing him, its likely he will jump straight into it to try and distract him from other issues that they are troubled by. I just don't want them to make the wrong discission. Most importantly, I really hope he gets the counselling he needs for a lot of issues to ensure it's the right path. I don't think that is currently happening due to lack of access to services.

It seems like people can self diagnose before bringing up with medical professionals as the answer to all their problems. Then the medical professionals in institutions like Tavistock have a politically motivated agenda and accelerate the transition processes without exploring all issues and avenues.

Its a very complicated issue involving nature and nurture, these Woke activist jump in claiming to have all the answers, I doubt they understand the issue but I'm sure they wont admit their are gaps in their knowledge.

I also think the likelihood of being transgender or transsexual is very very low. There are lots of people jumping on the band wagon who are just attention seekers. I know of another girl who says she is gender fluid, she's not, she's just a t*** who thinks everything has to be alternative. They make things worse for everyone.

The biggest problem is that you can't speak up and offer an opinion without all the a bunch of woke activist jumping down your through even though they are incapable of an independent thought. I swear a lot of them just get off on being intolerant of and view that doesn't match their own narrow minded opinions.

But please leave children out of this issue until they grow up.

Excellent post.

The suicide rate about people who have transitioned is higher than the general population however serious research into why that is has been seriously hampered by activists who see it as a criticism of Trans people.

I can only hazard a guess that some people are unhappy with their lives and believe that cosmetic surgery to make them look prettier or even transitioning will solve their problems only it doesn't always work out that way.

This is why counseling and taking time before starting on procedures that are life altering is so important.

I only hope our legal structures are strong enough to withstand this barrage of idendity politics cancer, because it's inevitible we'll import more carcinogens into this country over the coming few years.

Medicine is often linked to what is fashionable you might think this is an odd statement. However think about it, back in the sixties and seventies I was the only kid in my class who didn't have his tonsils out, how many kids do today?.

At one time being gay was considered a mental heath issue and so on.

A year ago I predicted a similar issue with the Tavistock Centre and that young children were being pushed into transitioning because it was the fashion. I predicted that sooner or later this would become a scandal and so it has.

The Tavistock centre is now under special measure and Sajid Javid has just announced an enquiry into the way the NHS treats children who want to transition. I just hope that not too many lives have been ruined by ideologues.
