No because some white and black footballers are sometimes f***ing useless and are told so by their own fans. I ask whether black ones are above criticism because they're black. This appears to be Freds take on it. The notorious BIG seems to like the word ****** as now you know.

Did you see any of the abuse aimed at Fred or you’ve just decided it wasn’t to do with race?

Personally, I don’t think people send monkey emojis to someone because they’re bad at football.

So correct me if I'm wrong but you think my reaction to racist abuse and black footballers response to online abuse is invalid because it just elicits an oversensitive emotional response, but your feelings about how racism is reported in the media (which isn't even abuse) is not being oversensitive and your emotional response to is perfectly valid?

It sounds like you think Black people should have a monopoly on the perils of immigration and multi culture.

I consider my feelings as important as anyone else's, and I expect equality on that. That includes the right to decide what I find offensive. The difference is that many with similar feelings are not afforded an hourly slot on the news cycle every day. In fact, we are vilified instead.

It's all a matter of perspective isn't it.

So you think exposure to news stories about racism is as offensive (or even more offensive by the sounds of it) than actual racist abuse?

I generally dislike people who throw around terms like ‘privelege’ but that is a truly remarkable level of delusion.

Did I say that? I don't think so.
What I suggested was that offence is subjective.

Or do you want your cake and eat it?
Sounds like you think that a couple of pictures of monkeys sent by adolescent idiots trumps everything.

Tell me I'm wrong.

The bit in bold is a bit of a leap from anything I've said but hey ho.

I also hold your feelings as important as anybody else and you also have the right to feel offended by what you feel offended by,

But on your opinion of how much black footballers should feel offended I will directly quote you "Calling people names? Give me a break."

Come on Belmont. You have lived here your whole life no doubt, been through the education system, lived some life.
How much energy can you really spend getting offended by some snotty arsewipe who thinks it's his best thrill in life to send monkey pictures to strangers?
As a footballer with an elite lifestyle, how bothered would you really be by such juvenile playground nonsense?

Don't most people get a little thicker skin by the time they can grow a beard?

I could direct all that back at you, you are on these boards thread after thread on racial issues and you give response after response on black footballers getting called names surely you can't be getting offended by someone one insinuating that you may be a racist in the media, after all it's just a nasty word no?

You seem to think it's ok for you to be offended by the media coverage but not for black footballers, you talked about equality before where is the equality in that?

That’s how I interpreted your post - I’m not sure how else it can be interpreted.

I don’t think it trumps everything, but I think it trumps you having to sit through a news report about racism.

Yes those were racist but many were about how s*** he was irrelevant of his colour. Has he picked what wernt racist and actually said 'I deserve these because I f***ed up' now that is how he should accept criticism, not label them all as racist.
He could get some kudos for that and make the racist posts infantile. How to move forwards is to not go backwards.

Utterly, utterly insane.

In truth, I didn't actually say I was offended by blanket coverage of race issues but more irritated. It was never like this in the past.

As I said, offence is subjective, but I can tell you right now that I wouldn't give some bellend the satisfaction of knowing that he had had got under my skin with some abusive text or remark.
I don't accept that it would be different if it was race related abuse. Emotions are emotions and backbone is backbone.

All this victim stuff just empowers the abusers. The first rule of bullying.

I was suggesting that my feelings about having race shoved down my throat every day were equally valid.

Racial abuse is obviously not the same thing, but what causes people unhappiness is subjective and varied.
