Well, ordinarily I'd agree with your first paragraph but it's also a reality that Watson doesn't have to concern himself with what the far left think because he's insulated financially from their immoral and unethical behaviours.

Blimey, would you?

Are you a big fan of the General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, Chairman of the Central Military Commission, and President of the State Affairs Commission?

Still a popularity contest. Whoever has the most followers wins.

No. They are selected first. Social media is a whole different world of populism

The more people see Watson's videos the more he'll wins as ultimately people can compare it to what's happening around them and judge who out of the type of people referred to is more honest about it.

If I recall you were arguing very recently that it was the arguments that needed to be considered and not the history of those making them.

I was the one suggesting that having trust in someone matters.

This writer seems to be a well qualified academic doing serious work in a detailed way. So I see no reason, other than blind prejudice, to dismiss him as an "anti-white leftist". Your views on me are irrelevant.

Watson has form. That he has 2 million subscribers is a sad reflection on the state of modern politics but as Mr Payne says the way to defeat these types of views is to put out the truth, repeatedly and slowly until it gradually sinks into the public consciousness, just as it has done with climate change.

It's a good article and full of wisdom. You should try reading it rather than the confirmation bias you are so fond of.

It's some cheek that the guy who poisons the well all the time then comes at me with it's the 'arguments that needed to be considered'.

Sure they do...no problem with that and I answer them all the time. However, you can also give your opinion of who's providing them...it's not mutually exclusive so saying that is a complete waste of everyone's time.

Let it be noted that this all comes from the self described 'one nation conservative' who in reality continually posts in favour of far left politics.

So again, those you agree with must be right, those you don’t agree with are wrong! What a surprise

Of course it's the arguments that ultimately matter. My point was, and is, whether you trust those making the arguments. If you have read things from someone that are blatant lies and propaganda then they tend to colour your opinion so you look elsewhere for information and ignore those you don't trust. If Watson ever had an epiphany and started making some sense I am pretty sure I would get to hear about it. If that happened then I might pay attention. Until then, no chance. I wouldn't read anything by Corbyn either, for much the same reason.

I had never heard of Keith Payne so I read the article fresh and found it genuine and informative. I suggest you do too. You won't like it but you might actually learn something.

Whether you find it hard to believe or not I AM a one nation Conservative. You are so far to the right that anyone who isn't there with you seems to be categorised as a "lefty" of some sort. If you possessed any kind of self awareness you would realise that this stems solely from your extremism and not at all from the mainstream political positions of others.

As that statement could apply to just about anyone in every situation it really doesn't have a lot of meaning, does it?

I didn't read the article because I agreed with the author. I didn't even notice who it was and had never heard of him before. I have no idea whether I would agree with him on anything. It was simply a well argued article.

What I found was an interesting analysis, supported by facts provided by research. That has nothing at all to do with any preconceptions or bias.

It might not suit the world view of those who believe the opposite of what his article is demonstrating but that doesn't mean it's untrue. It just means they are biased.

I'm happy for people to watch Watson's video and then read this guy's article and make their own mind up.

I'm also happy for those who consider themselves on the right to decide how honest WE's claim is that he is a conservative.

Watson has also just released another video in his series criticising the politics of modern globalism.

Good viewing for actual conservatives (though I accept attitudes on masks will differ)....you know conservatives that believe in actually conserving more than just their house price.

With one small edit I am happy to agree with the first line:-

"I'm happy for people to watch Watson's videos and then read this guy's article and make their own mind up."

Insulting me and my honesty has been your modus operandi for years. It has no more impact now than ever before. What you fail to acknowledge is that there have been, and still are, many members of the Tory party, and voters who support them, who hold diametrically opposing views to people like you. No doubt you would consider Ken Clarke and Michael Heseltine "lefties" too. They're not. They are Conservatives. They just aren't nutcase far righters as you are. I don't think you are a Conservative at all. No self-respecting decent member of the Tory party would associate themselves with many of the views you hold. I think you are hi-jacking the word for your own reasons.

Claiming that the politics of people like yourself and Watson are "actual" conservatives is evidence of that hi-jacking attempt but I too am happy for others to come to their own conclusions.
