Povetkin obviously knew his role better this time. He wasn't in such good shape and looked like he was there for the money.

Yep he should retire, his peak was sometime ago.

I can't help but get the impression that outside of the top two there's a lot of money being earned by some heavyweights who either past it or aren't that special.

Still, there are exciting heavyweights coming through....though Wardly looked moderate tonight at best.

He certainly was there for the cash. Looked fleshy and awful. The coronavirus diet had affected him.

Must admit I agree... At the weigh in yesterday that was the most flabby I've seen Povetkin.... Hey dont get me wrong you can't question the mans pedigree.. Olympic gold medallist and World Amateur gold medallist but Old Father time has caught up with him and he can retire a proud man.

Exactly. Top fighter in his day, it’s just that his day was a decade ago.

End of the road for Povetkin, White now moves forward. Possible fight with Wilder but not sure Wilder would risk it. Be a great one if it came off though.

Agreed... That would be a great fight... I also think Ruiz v Whyte would be a great spectacle... A proper tear up!.. I like Whyte but I stand by what I've said before.. In my opinion he will never win a World title.. He's just not good enough..

I think he may have been good enough in a weaker era, he’s just unfortunate to be around at the same time as TF and AJ

I think after 2021 and these two fights (providing all goes well) the titles will splinter again and I think Fury retires regardless.

If Whyte remains unbeaten in 21 or plays it safe and only takes a 'gimme' fight to stay active he should be in line for one of the belts.

I think that Whyte's punch resistance isn't what it was and while I think he could win a title I don't see him remaining a top contender or title holder for long.

Mentally I think Whyte is the type who loves boxing too much and he'll fight on too long for his health.....He's been a multi-millionaire for years now and he doesn't need the money.

I think boxing has an issue with older fighters in this regard, though I don't know what the answer is because ultimately it's your life, your health.

If Charles Martin was a world champion, Whyte is good enough.
Agree though, he probably needs to wait til the 2 Fury/AJ fights are done and the belts get split up a bit , due to not fighting mandatories , then fight someone not that good for a version of the heavyweight title.

Yes, his movement was even more limited than the first time around. Heavyweights of course hang onto their power punch while waning in every other regard, but I'd have been surprised if Whyte had got caught again. Not a bad final payday for Povetkin by all accounts. Hopefully Whyte will get another title shot. Not as though he's the best heavyweight ever but he doesn't dodge fighters and has earned it.

Potential big news for boxing fans.

Looks like Eddie Hearns Matchroom are leaving SKY for a mega deal with DAZN a streaming service.

Apparently AJ and White will still be shown on SKY box office.

Hearn has been SKYs sole promoter so this will leave a huge hole in SKYs programming.

Difficult to see a single promoter filling the void, may be best to share with several.

Easy to knock SKY, but boxing on tv before was awful.
