Baltimore will no longer prosecute drug possession and other low level offences

"When the courts open next month, I want my prosecutors working with the police and focused on violent offenses, like armed robbery, carjacking cases and drug distribution organizations that are the underbelly of the violence in Baltimore, not using valuable jury trial time on those that suffer from addiction," Mosby said.

Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he’s destroying is this God he’s worshipping.

Obvious and logical. Just wait for the irrational populist backlash

If you remove drugs you reduce violent crime anyway. Short sighted and won’t last.

I agree with it to an extent but it doesn't state what type of drugs they will be relaxing??... If it's weed and coke then iget that but crack and heroin is a different matter as they do force users into robbery and burglary etc which needs dealing with properly...

At least the politicians and Police chiefs have announced this as a public policy which allows for a debate I will give them credit for that.

In this country we have decriminalised shoplifting, burglaries, car theft and small drug possession but you wont get the police chiefs are their political masters to admit it.

Agreed no I haven't seen Treme will look out for it.

I hated Breaking Bad because I didn't like or care about any of the characters. That is why the Wire is such a good series you really care for the little drug dealers on the street corner even though they are criminals same with the Sorpranos lots of characters you like.

Not quite in it's league but Amazon Prime has the Harry Boch series excellent and probably quite realistic. They are always complaining about how long it takes for forensics, DNA, overtime pay etc. Again the supporting cast are well drawn and realistic.

Boch is a great character he is not a super intelligent detective just a regular cop who is like a dog with a bone he wont let go. Worth watching.

You'll like Treme if you like music, same guys behind the wire, all about the social issues of the aftermatg of Katrina in New Orleans. Girlfriend loves Bosch, pretty good watch.
