While Ken Clarke and Michael Heseltine are on the left of the Conservative party. I very much doubt that they would have been on here supporting the same far left progressive polices of WE.

As stated, those who consider themselves conservatives and have read WE's positions and just who writes in support of him on here will make their own mind up on how honest his claims on being a conservative are.

I didn't read the article because I agreed with the author. I didn't even notice who it was and had never heard of him before. I have no idea whether I would agree with him on anything. It was simply a well argued article.

What I found was an interesting analysis, supported by facts provided by research. That has nothing at all to do with any preconceptions or bias.

It might not suit the world view of those who believe the opposite of what his article is demonstrating but that doesn't mean it's untrue. It just means they are biased.

Well argued article that you didn’t read! Well done. Of course it could be untrue and you are just biased, not that this possible scenario ever crosses your mind

Of course I read it. Several times. It seems to me not to approach the subject without any preconceptions but look at things based on scientific observations, reaching an interesting conclusion on why some people erroneously believe that "white" racism is increasing.

My own position is irrelevant. I was not discussing that at all.

I never met Ken Clarke, although I admired his principles and tenacity. I did though meet Michael Heseltine as we were living in the same locality for a few years. To say I knew him would be an overstatement but I have had a few conversations with him.

I also admired him and believe that his political approach and mine are very similar. There isn't any significant difference that I am aware of.

He isn't a "leftist"in any way. And nor I am, despite your regular attempts to slur me.

People like Ken Clarke, Michael Heseltine and me have more in common with the likes of Paddy Ashdown, Nick Clegg and even Tony Blair than they do with people like Enoch Powell, Margaret Thatcher, Nigel Farage, Bill Cash, The Monday Club or you. People like you live in an echo chamber where all the echoes resonate of the past. Some of those echoes have distinctly unpleasant undertones. You can hear the voices of Oswald Mosley, Nick Griffin and "Tommy Robinson" in some of the darkest corners.

People like Paul Joseph Watson are merely rebroadcasting those echoes in the social media age. That people like you gobble them up, like spoon-fed syrup to a baby, and then spread them on further, is unsurprising. It's what people without original thoughts do these days.

What kind of idiot thinks that Clarke and Heseltine have more in common with Clegg, Ashdown and Blair (all contemporaries) than they do with Thatcher.....When Thatcher brought them into her own cabinet for years and they supported and signed off on most of her policies for years.....the mind boggles.

This guy is trying to claim that he is a conservative when the reality is that he's signed up to all the leftist policies on everything except stuff that might affect his personal bank balance.

This is a similar lack of understanding to his suggesting that Mitt Romney had a good chance of being GOP leader....it's like the guy's on another planet.

As for myself, I'm a social conservative so I'm definitely with Powell that much this fool gets right.

Conversing with this troll ends up in slagging matches that become more about individuals than the topic at large and he knows and loves it. So this will be the last post I make referring to him in this thread.

What kind of idiot doesn't understand that the Conservative Party is, or at least used to be, a very broad church. Of course Clarke and Heseltine served in a cabinet led by Thatcher. They did so in order to moderate and mitigate. To ensure that both the major wings of the party had a voice in cabinet. That they "signed off" on the policies fails to contemplate how those policies were arrived at, where compromise and conciliation were required before agreement. Thatcher was a dominant lady but both Clarke and Heseltine were pretty persuasive and had their own support too.

The idea that the only thing I am interested in is my bank balance is as funny as it's insulting. Just so long as I am able to live without worry my bank balance is of little concern, especially the older I get. Although it's of no concern to you I have supported others less fortunate than me all my life and have given away a substantial percentage of my wealth. I live modestly. Money is not the measurement of a man any more than is his macho capacity. You measure a man by his humanity.

We will see where Romney ends up. There's a lot of water still up stream. Cream always rises. It sometimes takes time.

That these exchanges deteriorate is entirely down to you. I post opinion whilst you post insult upon insult. Whenever your far-right blathering gets trashed insult is always your response and never reasoning.

Why do I bother? It's not for your benefit that's for sure as people like you never change, but there are some others here whose politics I might disagree with but are more reasonable people and likely to be receptive to alternative viewpoints. It's noticeable that whilst you regularly get taken to task by me and a few others it's rare for anyone to come to your aid. Which, given the political balance to be found here, ought to give you pause for thought. It won't of course because you are never wrong and don't need any help.

Views like yours need to be countered where-ever they crop up. I believe it to be a duty placed on every decent person. I have done it for years in a variety of places, although you are probably the worst example I have encountered. I have little doubt if you had been born 100 years ago that 20 years later black shirts would have been your preferred attire.

You might think all of this has nothing to do with US politics but in a strange way it does. The kind of views you hold are much more commonly found in the USA and more freely expressed in the Trump era. The last thing we need is for them to gain any traction in the UK.

I'm sure Stirling is more than capable of looking after himself, but I'm happy to come to his aid if required.

I had already noticed that. It's pretty obvious. But thanks for the confirmation. I'll bear it in mind when I see a post from you.

Really, Wisbech?

Well I'll stand by the likes of Stirling against your sort all day every day.
You are nothing more than a flimflam man and a fifth columnist who is use only to the enemies of our culture and our future existence as a nation.
