Murder one. The video evidence clearly shows it. Pre-meditation I think so but difficult to prove. He will get off lightly compared to the man he squeezed the life out of.

Saw on sky one of the 3 witnesses on scene, a firefighter and trained medic, wanted to give medical assistance to George as she could see he needed it but the poooooooliceman wouldn"t let her near him,doesn"t look great for the feds having a trained firefighter letting them know he needs medical assistance, a great witness.

Let the court decide on the evidence and let the debate continue elsewhere over whether the reaction to the death was proportionate to its context. That Floyd's death sparked such a worldwide reaction has to mean something other than just the right getting upset over an idea that "progressives" are playing politics. Anger of that sort is not generated simply by political games. It is real. That it was then exploited does nothing to minimise that strength of feeling. Of course any death in custody is a tragedy but not every death in custody is equally newsworthy. It does depend on context, whether you like it or not. The context has nothing to do with the victim's skin colour, although I doubt very much whether you will understand why. It depends upon their strata in society and whether their treatment was impacted by it. That's important. Their skin colour is not.

He left the knee on after he was clearly unconscious, which is pretty hard to defend but they may struggle to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he tried to intentionally kill him. That is unless they can unearth some Stirling Says esque views on racial equality, on some website somewhere, that Chauvin authored. He will go down for manslaughter.

I agree with you that only manslaughter seems probable. Unfortunately I do not see that will appease many, baton down the hatches!
