FT 5-1

Palace played good quick passing forward, passing it out from the back & looking to put the ball over the top of WH who played a high line. Defence was TBF hardly troubled. Omilabu, Rak-Sakyi & Steel, were IMO, standout players today. All the team performed well, not afraid to get stuck in considering the 'robust' tackling/fouls by WH.

Will post up Match Report when it becomes available.

Thanks there should be some highlights too by tomorrow.

Another great young eagles display.

Zaha and co. will be getting jealous!

It's results like this (and a league table like that) which makes folk lose the run of themselves and demand that the kids be played in the first team immediately. I am trying very, very hard not to join their number, but it becomes more and more tempting every week!

Whenever I get carried away I look again at the stats regarding the number of players who won international youth tournaments for England (including the World Cup) and didn't even become professionals. That sobers me up a bit.

Anyway, well done to the youngsters for today, let's hope more than the usual one or two every few years proves good enough to play regularly in the premier league, and that if not, they are at least enjoying their football now without putting all their eggs in the basket marked 'football'.

Well played the lads but it's the U23's first before we can consider them for the first team squad.

Not too sure bout that Badg, especially as R-S still stalling on a Professional Contract, some think that giving him & a couple of others a sniff of 1st team action by the seasons end might entice them to stay.

Both those mentioned & a couple of others have already made the step up & played for the U23's. Time will tell i suppose.

Tayo Adaramola is a smashing player and looks to have the physical presence for the step up to first team football. Highly rated within the Irish system. He plays left back.

Tell that to Bellingham, Sancho, Foden etc. The old adage 'if they're good enough they're old enough' very much applies.

It's good that R-S has had some exposure to 1st team training. If he's a smart kid that will have shown him how big the gap between U18 and 1st team is and he'll want to go away and do his best to bridge it. On the other hand he may just think he's the cat's whiskers, in which case, good bye.
