Point of information: every club that has played in the top division of English football has been relegated at some point. Arsenal was mentioned as never having been relegated, but they went down in season 1912/13. As for relegation from the Premier League there are seven clubs that have never been relegated: Arsenal, Spurs, Man U, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool and Brighton.

I’ve enjoyed reading this thread - with some sage views expressed. On that magical day in 2013 I never thought we’d stay stay up the following season- I desperately hoped we would (obviously) but history told me it was unlikely. And yet here we are 8 years (and an FA Cup final) later. We have without question exceeded what I hoped for - we have SP and the successive managers to thank for that (not FDB!) and as a result my hopes have shifted from delight at survival at any cost to hope that we can achieve mid table safety with the odd Cup run and victory over the Big Six here and there. The big question now is whether we can do that playing better football (excluding Monday’s performance which was a much better watch than I was expecting) than we have seen this season and end of last season. Remains to be seen - but let’s hope so! I would like Roy’s time to end on a high.

I'd just like to sense progress, be it stadium, squad renewal, more modern playing style or some ambition in the cups. Its that last one that really bites with me. We arent alone in this "pragmatic approach". I have a mate who is a Wolves fan and this year they had a winnable 5th round tie at home to a woefully out of form Southampton but put out an under strength side and lost. Saints then got Bournemouth in the 6th round and now have a semi against Leicester and a realistic shot at a final. Wolves meanwhile are .0000001 mathematically safe and nothing to play for. Saints are not quite so safe .0001 mathematically but retain some interest. I know which one I'd rather be. Is it too much to ask for all the money fans put in, one way or another, to actually try in the one or two competitions that can actually bring some real joy?

Happy for Wolves victory last night, but still feel sorry for Fulham. They were the far better team (at least the last 35 minutes I watched the game) - and Wolves very poor. But a sucker punch from Traore in extra time did the damage.

By watching dull football and Roy trotting out the same old story win lose or draw. I want to be entertained not sent to sleep.
