You're nuts, so what you say is that due to playing Chelsea we should play an extra cdm, a perfectly reasonable thing to do...but hello Eze isn't a cdm yet Mccarthy sits on the bench!

i get that...but he is still not very good even when played in his preferred position, IMO schluppy or andros should start in front of him.

we can look all the stats in the world to agree or disagree with roy being manager...all that matters at the end of the day is how many points after how many games and by that yardstick he is going a fantastic job.

For the last 2 years Roy has continuously started games with players in the wrong position or with the mindset to not lose the game. After this long in the PL we shouldn't be doing that, we were past that long ago but are going backwards with that mentality. Facts don't lie...

last week on another thread i predicted we would lose £60m FY 2020 i was wrong we lost £58m.

if we hadnt have sold AWB FY 2019 we would have lost £40m.

I think if wilf goes (god i hope he doesnt), and massively reduce the wage bill this summer we could maybe only lose £10m FY 2021.

my point being, is that i judge my expectations based on what the squad looks like and what has been invested in it, when your favoured starters are ayew / mccarthy & kouyate (who i like) playing CB for a whole season you temper your expectations accordingly.

to demand more than what we have achieved shows a severe lack of understanding of the situation we find ourselves in, given the limited funds available to our manager.

that is why, i would be more than happy for him to sign a new contract, as if we make the wrong decision and go down, that £58m loss turns into double that.

You can keep Roy and finish between 11-16 or you can go into the unknown. Trouble is Roy is getting too old to man manage. Tough call.
