I assume that all broadcasters have to adhere to a code of practice as well as the law so why should the BBC be treated different? Isn't it how companies decide to create HR practices so that they confirm the key point.

I am asking a question, why would you think this is a "dig " at you? If there is a law that requires the BBC to act with inclusivity and equality then I would like to know. If there is not then that's fine. Don't really understand why if someone posts something that is possibly incorrect and is then asked for clarification that it is considered a personal dig. The Equality Act 2010 makes no reference to broadcasting as far as I am aware so please enlighten on the secondary legislation that requires the BBC to act in a certain way by virtue of being a publicly funded broadcaster ( which is the reason the BBC is subject to a Royal Charter and other broadcasters are not ). Strange isn't it, despite the groundswell of views that the BBC has gone too far in it's diversity culture (and I'm one of them), of the 13m or so who watched Philip's funeral, 11m tuned into BBC and only 2m into ITV.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

I've been, and remain (are you allowed to use that word?) a strong critic of the BBC and the way that they are morphing, but credit where credit's due, I thought their coverage of Prince Philip's funeral on Saturday was faultless. All the better for having virtually no voicing over the event. Stick to what you're good at would be my take on it.
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |
