So democracy is now wrong. Morally you or I should choose what's right or wrong for everyone else. We don't want any British Trumps. Who we do want doesn't exist but we can always complain.Maybe Putin could show us what to do. Or someone.

Democracy isn’t wrong. We have the government we voted for and deserved. It’s just a shame it’s one devoid of any honesty or integrity and there’s probably enough people similar to vote for it again to keep it in power.

There isn't anything dishonest or unprincipled about compromise. Unless you live alone on a self-governing island, or are a dictator with absolute authority, then almost everything involves some kind of compromise. It's how society works.

Everyone who believes in democracy understands and accepts that to achieve things you need to compromise. Not for nothing are politics known as "the art of the possible".

Politicians even compromise with others in their own party when writing manifestos. Indeed being able to respect the opinions of others and then work together to find mutually acceptable compromises, demonstrates principles of the highest calibre. That of putting collective wisdom above your own opinions.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

There are plenty of people with honesty and integrity I would not trust to change a light bulb. David Lloyd George was one of our greatest politicians and as dodgy as they come.
