Against Everton, the substitutions he made we great and showed ambition. He brought on Schlupp, Mateta and Batshuayi as well as playing Eze through the middle. We ended up taking the game to Everton and came away with a point.

I cannot for the life of me understand why he doesn’t have the same sort of ambition anymore. He seems terrified!

Yet again, Eze surged through and we scored from it. He is our future, our main threat now. Let’s build around him, not stick him out wide.

I agree. It’s SO PASSIVE. We have shown in short spells throughout the season that we can play some decent stuff. Getting a deserved early lead yesterday and then deciding to sit back, defend narrow and let them have the ball! Why not stay on the front foot and get a second?
Many have said it - it’s the same old story! We predicted during the game what would happen and we knew Roy would do NOTHING about it until it was too late.
Rodgers makes a double substitution to take the game on - while Roy waits until 85 minutes before bringing on two midfielders- when we need a goal? Zero ambition.

I agree we need a squad refresh - but we have players on the bench who don’t get used why?

It’s so frustrating.

"Work in progress" and I wasn't totally comfortable with him at left-back but could certainly see potential.

Gargantuan step up from the Academy to the PL and I do feel that playing regularly at a lower-level will aid his development.

So who would be our left backs next season? Personally thought Mitchell was improving with every game, sitting on the bench watching PVA play s*** every week won’t help his confidence

Someone with more first team experience than Mitchell but I wouldn't be surprised to see Mitchell given his chance. He has got the potential but perhaps I have been reading the same page as Mr Hodgson !

Absolutely and well deserved. Another truly awful performance.

I suspect we were watching different games. One thing this wasn't was an awful performance (although Jairo was pretty pants and one can question the nature and timings of the substitutions). We nicked the ball off them numerous times (and vice versa) and we anticipated and intercepted a good number of their passes. We tried last night and were undone by poor defending for the first goal, a bizarre decision by Jairo to pass instead of shoot and some poor passing when in promising positions on a few occasions but overall we were better than we have been for a while.

But if PVA goes who is this LB with more first team experience? You are not Roy are you?

I agree. Its like groundhog day ... same old same old. We scored yesterday because we unusually won the ball back higher up the pitch and hey presto we had 3 on 3 and passed through them. Most of the time we are sitting so deep letting them have possession and this will not happen. Its just a question of waiting for the oppo to score. Roy pretty much admits he was playing for the draw in his post match. Leicester had played Thursday and were not at their best we had had 2 weeks off and should have been more aggressive. No wonder Zaha looked so pissed off . Who would want to stay in this team next season.

They had more than double the chances we had plus more than double the possession. They made mistakes frequently, we played better than we often do. They probably doubled us in every stat except fouls. How can we think that is a good performance? Better than some but it still isn't. It's basically being dominated in almost every match and somehow hoping for a goal from nowhere. Which, admittedly, has happened at least twice this season.

Well, I wasn't surprised by last night's result. Delighted we scored first with a terrific goal, but always felt we'd succumb to their quality in the end.

Lots of contradictory comments on here about Roy and various players. Always interesting to read your views and I share some of them, particularly Roy's initial team selection, and his late and questionable substitutions, Benteke and PVA. I think people are harsh about Jairo. OK he made some mistakes, but, to coin one of Willo's phrases I see him as 'work in progress'. A young player with potential.

We definitely need to see changes next season possibly to the manager, definitely to the players. I'm not bothered about us to be looking at Europe, but I would like to feel secure as a top half team.

Looking forward to more exciting play and I trust Mr Parish to make the right decisions to allow that to happen.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Agreed. Yet more cowardly, selfish, s*** from PvA last night. Personally I'm very much looking forward to not seeing him in a Palace shirt again.

I know we have weakness throughout the squad and I don’t mean to pick on one player but week in week out Roy sticks with Benteke probably on orders from above in the hope he does something...anything in fact to bolster their hopes of selling him. He however remains a prize lemon on the pitch with leaden slow legs and terrible positional awareness. The easiest player to dispossess or rob the ball from in the Premiership by far.

Mateda and Batshuayi must be fuming and rightly so...

I agree Riederwald is work in progress and there’s lots to admire there but he needs to grow a pair in front of goal because he’s bottled it on more than one occasion this season when the world is shouting ‘shoot’ !
