Well according to the meeja Dyche is our no 1 target.

Kinda like getting turned down by a girl so you move on to her best mate "it was always you darling I just was using your friend to get to you"

In that case let's go for the best mate!! I'd have Dyche over any of the other names that are apparently on the shortlist..

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!

How would we feel if Roy is given a new four year contract ? And put in charge of transfers. Bit like Brendan Rogers. If he keeps us up then he could have the option to extend the contract into his eighties. Bit like Joe Biden.

I couldn’t take four more years of the Roy Out thread

Won’t feel anything seeing as I’m barely watching these days. And I won’t be going back to matches if it’s like this.

Whoever takes over needs to sort out our ageing defence

The whole thing is getting rather boring now with the Palace forums and click bait pimps just going round and round in circles.

I think that it's fairly obvious now that Roy is going and it's equally obvious that Parish can't make his mind up what to do next.

Parish has also forgotten that once upon a time he used to be a fan who was hungry for information too

except that Roy's record of success is way better than Biden.

It could be argued that one of the most important attributes of a new manager will be to make us defensively solid again.
We are unlikely to be a prolific goalscoring team so will need defensive solidity to achieve results.
For 1-0 to be enough in games.
I acknowledge that our defenders are getting older and lack pace, but for me the real problem is in midfield where we are continually bypassed enabling opposition to get at our back 4.
At the beginning of the season for a few games we looked to have some bite and energy with Mcarthur and McCarthy, but sadly we can’t rely on them any more because of age and injuries.
Jairo doesn’t seem to have right level of intensity to play the role, although a good player, and Luka for me hasn’t warranted a first team place this season.
If we could buy/ loan a couple of young Mcarthur types I think this would help us both offensively and defensively.

Of the potential managers who have been linked I would be concerned about achieving defensive solidity with either Lampard or Howe.
Dyche would be more likely to instil the right disciplines for us to eke out the narrow wins that will be necessary for us to get results in tight games.

Even if it is Lampard we can forget about him bringing Tammy Abraham in. Chelsea have said they’re willing to accept £40m for him.

I don't know, I'm sure Roy would be happy if he could secure a 1.9 trillion budget from the board to help the squad

Lets give Mateta a chance first
