Many posters are convinced that Hodgson will leave in the summer. However, have a listen to the section 4 mins 50 sec to 6 mins 25 in his pre-Citeh match press conference in which he clearly states he is undecided as to whether to carry on for another year.

I don't believe it as the job of a chairman is to plan for the future which is impossible if the manager is so indecisive. Roy's position has been decided but for some reason or other hasn't been announced to the world

Listened to the clip - interesting. Wait and see how things pan out over next couple of weeks and see if I want to put myself up for another year. What things. Results one hopes! Putting himself up. Does that mean not automatically will be renewed.
Whatever you think of him Roy's good with words. These may have been chosen to pose more questions than he answered.
I think its probably time but the guy should be given some dignity. He's earned it. We can argue as to the point at which it went pear shaped, if that's your view. No doubt in my mind it would have been getting tetchy if the stadium had been open.
Finally SP is not perfect but I'd be gobsmacked if he was not working on Plan B, if indeed Roy is Plan A.

I want a change in manager, but if Roy does stay I think we could still see an improvement next season if we were to add some pace and energy in central midfield and defence. To be fair to Roy, he has been hampered somewhat by the slowness of players like Ward, Cahill, Dann, Luka and Jairo. When we tried to play higher up the pitch earlier in the season we got taken apart as one quick ball forward and we were undone.

Having said that, it doesn't feel like he has gotten the best out of Eze and his subs have been an issue since day one. Despite Tekkers looking threatening from crosses he has also failed to find a way of delivering them.

We are probably fortunate to have as many points as we do as our performances have not really merited them. This really does feel like the most significant summer since our promotion as so many players seem like their time here is done, and it's all happening at once. If I was a manager I'd be excited by that, and if Roy is staying on he doesn't come across as a man who shares that excitement. The elder statesman thing is done now, let's see some passion again.

Its not Roys Decision, His contract is up, its Parish's , a new manager is imperative, as is getting rid of at least Benteke, Sakho, Wickham, Ward, PVA, Dann, Hennessey and Kelly, and also sending Bats back

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

I felt that during the interviews surrounding the Leeds game that there was a significant shift in Roy's position / the way he was answering questions about his future, now whether that was my imagination, or Roy just having become bored with the same questions or a decision as regards his future had actually now been made-it left me feeling that he knew that he wouldn't be in charge next season.

I am not in the know - just the way I felt at the time.

The point you make about lack of pace is huge IMO but I think it's a problem across the whole team. Even Zaha has lost a yard. On a general level the only area I don't perceive to be a problem is Goalkeeper.

I think Bats would be ok in a team that is capable of playing on the front foot more but he's not our player and wont be cheap.

The strongly worded opinions of fans regarding team formation and selection I find staggering. Aside from Zaha, Eze and Guaita you could draw the remaining names from a hat and there'd be nothing in it in terms of what they offer individually.

I think Roy is very shrewd with the media and who he trusts with his thoughts. The fact that there are so many reports about the club speaking to alternatives and that, with five games to, his renewal hasn't been announced makes it clear he isn't first choice. The question IMO is whether he will tell the club to do one if none of the (realistic) alternatives materialise.

As I have said on more than one occasion we are either the worst run club in history or else Hodgson and Parish already know what the future holds in relation to whether or not Roy is retiring but for reasons known only to themselves are keeping it secret
