Like Badger says.

Reality doesn't go away painting yer face blue and shouting Freedom.

At least Salmond is being more transparent on Alba policy.

Thee is no legal requirement for Scotland to repay UK debt on independence and London has already conceded that.

After adjusting for London's QE the balance would be in Scotland's favour anyway.

Economically viable? You mean printing and borrowing on an unquantifiable scale.

They would be well off out!

Give English people the vote and you'll quickly see an independent Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. You'll have what you want and more.

I have no idea about the legalities but like I said you walk away without a deal the money markets will not trust you.

QE may be a magical monetary theory but nothing is so cool and the governments huge deficit of 2 T has been largely created by QE since the 2008 crisis.

It is the Bank of England so I don't think Scotland could be liable.

Irrelevant, £100s of billions have been made by the treasury since the 70s and only a tiny fraction has benefitted Scotland from what are mostly Scottish resources. The insinuations are that Scotland doesn't contribute enough for what it takes from the treasury, which is far from the truth. It's already contributed enough through past oil revenues for many decades to come.

Wrong.

According to parliament, Scotland accounted for 9.2% of UK public spending, around 8% of UK revenues and 8.2% of UK population in 2019/20.

This is a silly post.

" Legal requirement ", student politics level comment.

There are no " legal requirements " for any of the possible negotiations that might take place in the fantasy world of Scottish independence negotiations.

This is a fact, those pesky things you don't like.

Having said that, your contrarian opinions do have a certain comedy value so please don't stop .

The SNP majority after the elections will be more of a guide to the possibility of a Labour revival in Scotland than anything else in my view.

For decades Labour were guaranteed 40-50 Westminster seats from Scotland, now it's 1, yes ONE

The possibility of Labour ever regaining power in Westminster is in great part linked to them regaining the lost Labour "safe seats" in Scotland, so Labour will never agree or support anything that furthers the cause of Scottish independence.

Why are you still banging on about legal requirement?

If ignorance is bliss I envy your blissfulness, but, keep up the comedy

Thank goodness the Govt inherited a healthy fiscal position from Labour or we would be in real trouble..........yawn

It's time to move on, the financial crisis added to the irresponsible financial management of Brown, but no time machine etc so we have to work with what we have now, which thankfully is very low interest rates for UK Govt borrowing.

QE is more or less Keynesian theory.

Politically the Johnson Govt has fiscally taken the middle ground Starmer wants.

This is a purple not blue Govt

Do really think the Bank of England only deals with England?

If yes you're an idiot
If no then this " It is the Bank of England so I don't think Scotland could be liable" demonstrates you're an idiot.

But, keep up the comedic nonsense, entertains at least
