I think it's great that we are ending the season on the front foot, but these games are throwaway really. It will be a good way to say goodbye to Roy in my view, going out on a high with a hearty thanks for stabilising the club at a time of great need. Given Wilf, Andros, Bentenke and Eze have been fit most of the season you can't help but wonder could and should we have done better this year, even with a crocked defence? If Roy does stay on then we can only hope next season he puts a little more faith in our front players. Even though I want a change, I do like Roy, so I won't be cheering if he goes, just giving him a well-deserved round of applause.

Fair assessment. I want a change next year but would also want Roy to end an overall steady tenure on a positive note.

I want to see Liverpool stuffed at home next week.

Fans who think for a moment that our manager has lost it are the ones who need help, very sad.

This has become another thread about Roy, generally.
Specifically, and as per the OP, what the flippin 'all was Roy doing putting two keepers on the bench? I've tried hard but cannot find a single plausible reason.

The two GKs on the bench is a clear sign he doesn’t give a s*** anymore. Would be so easy to pick a youth player and give them the experience of being in a match day squad.

End of the season and end of Roy cannot come soon enough.

Having 2 GKs on the bench is innovative and was obviously the change we needed to bring the best out of the team.

Well done Roy, masterstroke.

There is of course the small matter of trying to put out a very strong side in the under 23s playoff tomorrow. That wouldn’t leave to many options for the bench. He could have had a kid, but if they weren’t considered for the 23s what point would there be in that?
At the end of the day the game was won. That was all that was needed. Not bad for some one thought to be out of their mind.

A reasonable point. How much more likely will we be to persuade Zaha and Eze to stay if we play in a more positive way.

It took us a while to find our feet today but once we did we looked like the Palace we all love, our attacking play clicked for probably the first time this season with all of Zaha, Schluup, Eze, Benteke and Townsend all on the pitch together and actually being constructive ..to say though that our manager has been responsible for them all not to be so is quite an observation.

It seems Roy knows a bit more about what he's doing than you do. Who'd have thought?

Seven outfield players were available to be chosen if desired.

Not important really was it ?

Wayne Hennessey has been a good servant to Palace. Maybe Roy wants to help his preparation for the Euros by involving him in the squad and showing that he was fit to be picked. Maybe he'll get a game this week.
