Well, this thread has given us all plenty of suggestions since it began with Dazza's forecast of Frank Lampard a month ago.

So much wishful thinking, calculated forecasting and 'expert' opinion with probably over a dozen names thrown into the ring.

It was always clear that Mr Parish wasn't going to make an announcement before Roy's final game at Anfield. He knew that Roy's leaving, not only Palace, but the game altogether most likely, should be the main focus of attention. And it's quite clear from the messages of appreciation and thanks from all corners of the footballing world that he was right.

I'm as curious and keen as everybody else to know the identity of our new manager and Monday can't come soon enough when surely all will become clear.
