How can it be when the vast majority are ex-Liverpool/Manure/Citeh/Arsenal etc. players?

It’s the nature of the Premier league, TV relationship. We are only ever the meat in the sandwich, as far as the Tv pundits are concerned. Sky, BT , it’s invariably the same. The Arsenal. Game , was deep disappointment for them until the very last minute.
Today really was all about Liverpool, we were never more than a sacrificial lamb, they can’t help themselves. My feeling is they would like to see us gone, You get the feeling they think they are slumiming it when they come to Selhurst. Not at all a good look for the loads of money league.

I think that sums up why many of us had finally had enough of Roy. Liverpool were always likely to beat us, but after about 20 minutes we didn't even try and put them under pressure, even though we had nothing to lose. We had a striker on the bench but didn't bring him on, even when it was clear Ayew and Wilf were not causing any problems. PvA came on to say goodbye, I can't see any other reason why he would come on?

Next season we may well regret Roy leaving, but I doubt it can be as boring as these last 18 months. As to the Mitchell debate, the kid stopped it from being 4 or 5 nil in my view. Neither he nor Ward got any support while those in the middle looked like they'd never seen a football before such was their passing. By the end Wilf was just walking around moaning. Like many have said, I'm actually glad the season is over.

I will never regret it!
I have honestly never felt such apathy for my beloved club than I have this season - tonight’s game was the absolute perfect summary of all of the infuriating Roy ism’s that have sapped my enthusiasm for match days.
Frankly It’s been a feat of endurance to stick with it at times during the past two seasons and it is imperative that the next manager has some backbone ( to hook players when they are not putting in 100% and yes that includes Wilf, if he’s still here) some new ideas and a philosophy that’s starts with Palace showing some fight!

Good luck to Roy - but Thanks god it’s over!

But the ‘Roy Out’ brigade don’t want a realistic assessment. Just let them have their little whine, it’s all academic now.

who's whining? we won the war

Couldn't agree more.
The only plus-and of course it's a big one- is that we stayed up. Otherwise: no magic, two players developed (Eze, Mitchell), we forgot how to defend and to be 'difficult to beat'. Some posters will argue that beating Brighton and finishing above them is all that matters. I find that sort of thinking depressingly small-town, tedious, childish.
The 4-1 defeat of Leeds was perhaps the highlight of the season unless the win at a Man Utd still on pre-season and the five goals at West Brom count. But which team went forwards and which backwards after the first Leeds result? We've played some shocking football this season. My highlight was the poster who described the 0-7 to Liverpool as 'a bad day at the office'. Pretty relaxed office manager, then. The equivalent of 0-7 for an office worker on the same sort of money as our players is that you clear your desk and are escorted off the premises by Security.
So the appointment of the new manager is crucial to our chances of staying up next season. It's concerning to hear it reported that candidates are put off by the Chairman's reticence with the cheque book.
Are we in a better position than at the end of last season?

Were all our forwards given the day off? I'm still puzzled why we signed Mateta but never use him? Did Benteke drop out late this afternoon? Why wasn't Bats on the bench?

Benteke went off with a calf strain on weds and hadn't recovered in time. And Bats had a back problem (probably from carrying all his money we've paid him and he doesn't deserve!)
