Not a traditional Leftist policy but one that the new Left seems to embrace.

We know the rich elites want it, but rich does not equal Right wing.

Yes these terms are all a bit anachronistic

People who are highly educated have no choice but to appear totally left wing in every aspect, particularly at academic institutions, otherwise they would either get the sack, get moved 'sideways' or be generally vilified for their 'racist' or 'fascist' views. One only has to look at the careers of people such as David Starkey or Douglas Murray. They've spoken out; they're going nowhere now.
I'm as educated as it gets, I have a sentence after my name. I have also worked my entire life. I have stepped down from academia due to the stifling atmosphere of censorship, on thought, speech and particularly research funding. On the odd occasion, I will critique some research (truthfully, so usually negatively), I write the odd bit of my own hobby stuff. However, as per the original post, and to answer the original question: I was born poor and was always Labour. I'm old Labour. I haven't voted for Labour since John Smith. I don't believe they represent the working class, or even equality. They highlight working class people's genuine concerns as 'fascist' or 'racist' rather than deal with those concerns. They champion immigrants without any consideration of the actual context. They highlight minority rights over the rights of everyone. The whole party is a joke. The left wing has been taken over by people who are basically the commintern for the few, not the many. The average person's view is 'bias' or 'prejudice' and literally everything is 'offensive'. There is no policy for the masses, they are actually anti-the British person. Who votes for their own hangman? You know the answer and are living in the consequences of that.
The only way Labour will ever win again will be a massive Tory cock up, most likely the economy. Unfortunately, there probably is a decent chance of that at some stage. Whether Labour can ever get their sh1t together, even then, is another question.

Blimey that's good.

As much as it pains to agree we are indeed living in an age of the witch hunt

If HOL had a post of the month then you just nailed it.

Spot on. Labour have actually turned against its own, the working class English.

I fear people will misinterpret this post. I agree with it but take a different stance.

Apparently Labour is the party of the ‘working class’. I make that around 14%.

So who speaks for the mass that supports progressive policies and cares about equality of opportunity? Certainly not the current government.

Labour focuses on noble causes, whether or not in truth they are deserving but doesn’t really currently speak for modern Britain.

It's well known that it was Blair who shifted Labour culturally towards that progressive neo liberal type...the 'champagne socialist' meme. So used to the greasy pole they keep a fiver in their boxer strap.

However, Labour are meant to be for the working class....the clue is kind of in the name.

But while they found success with Blair and 'New Labour', a large part of the grass roots hated themselves for it. So when the election victories stopped the knifes came out once Miliband changed the leadership rules.

However, the 'progressives', which make up the bulk of the Labour grass roots, don't really represent the bulk of the voting pool.....and slowly the normies came to realise that Labour were less interested in them than their ideological purities.

Now Labour are stuck with a leadership that can't win and a grass roots that doesn't want to change back to Blairism.

So Johnson will basically be in office for a long time,....Labour have more chance of a heart attack/stroke getting rid of him than they have of beating him in an election.

Something I predicted of Johnson before he became leader.....mind you I can't stand him either.

Eventually though, unless something dramatic happens, demographic change wins it for Labour....Just look at London for the evidence.

A non-deserving noble cause, WTF is that exactly

Are you posting from 1948 by some technical wizardry.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.
