Townsend's on Talksport.... best place for him now I think.

And the goal against Man City was fabulous, although even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

I would not describe him as technically gifted. I sit in the Upper Holmesdale and more often than not he gets it nearer to me than the back of the net.

Rates Mason Mount as "mentally strong", stronger than Andros himself he admits : "When I played for England I got a lot of criticism and it effected my confidence."

Gripping stuff.

So he went down the bookies and spunked another weeks wages. I can’t imagine he would be anywhere near a Champions league team unless it’s from some Mickey Mouse country

Disagree - he's been one of our best performers over the last few weeks. While I'd agree he's not the most technically gifted, it's not always about that. He puts a shift in every week, carries with purpose and gets balls into the box. Way prefer that than a technical wizard like Wilf who throws in one nice step over then does nothing else but sulk all game.

Give him a new contract.

Absolutely, had a terrific last month and hopefully gets a new contract. His Talksport spot gives Palace some much needed exposure and the interviews I've heard sticks up for Palace and gives some insight into our club.

Find it interesting.

As far as I can tell, we have to offer him a contract or else Wilf would have to play on the right, unless we're signing two wingers (yeah right). Even that supposes Wilf stays. Our squad has literally no other wingers, unless you count Ayew and Schlupp. Fair enough, Schlupp can play left, Eze and Wilf (frankly none other than Wilf convince me there, and Wilf is better coming inside) . Who's on the right? Just Andros, and I find it pointless putting Ayew there. A youngster perhaps? I'm not seeing it.
As I say, we gave to offer Andros a contract or we have to buy. And we need cover too. Again, we have to renew.

Seems we are in a bit of a mess at the moment. No manager (so far), exit players en masse, and seemingly very little money for transfers.
Gosh, I love my club. Never a boring moment!

It really is getting hard now to know where the club is going to end up. No manager, and the equivalent of a team of players out of contract in days.
Only the Covid factor can be used as a sane reason to play things out in this way. Surely any player running out of wages in that amount of time is open to any decent offer, tabled from elsewhere ?
Verbal agreements could end up good for nothing if a new manager puts a spoke in the works. So surely will not count for anything if a decent offer is out there.
The biggest question of course is where is the money going to come from to replace that amount of players leaving? Some have their critics, but ,you can not replace a Benteke, or Townsend, with peanuts , that on top of other parts of the squad needing being kept up to scratch.
We are going to get a fantastic uplifting surprise shortly, or we are going to realise the club is settling into another catastrophe in its history. Either way it’s all being kept under wraps.
