Dyche is the only sensible choice given our current squad.

Actually, I think the only sensible option was Roy Hodgson. Not only did he work wonders with a very poor squad, he’s demonstrated that with younger players he could get us playing football. He’s also had the Fulham affair and so should’ve been given at least a season to oversee the transition of players. Then, whenever he decided to hang it up, we would be in a great position to bring in a younger manager with more risk associated to him.

I suspect that we could’ve got Roy to stay for another year or 2, too, if we really wanted to. The problem may be that a growing section of very vocal fans were calling for his head and becoming increasingly disgruntled and this had the potential to effectively render his position untenable.

In any case, another season of Roy Hodgson embedding the new players in while we keep tabs on people like Cooper and Ismaël would’ve been ideal. But we are where we are and now we’re here it would seem utterly bizarre to bring Dyche in. Especially when it’s advocated by people who wanted Roy gone on footballing grounds. I really think you’re overlooking the football that Sean Dyche plays. It makes Roy look like Guardiola.

Well, yes? That’s why I said we are where we are. I was simply refuting your assertion that Dyche would be "sensible". There’s nothing sensible about getting rid of Roy to replace him with Dyche.

No good vibes for Cooper!

Agreed. He blew it in the playoff on Saturday. No experience at our level. Even how he looks does not inspire confidence.

Hence my point about it being leaked to possibly mask what's really going on.
Nonetheless, there does appearto be interest in Cooper and just by seeking to denigrate the source doesn't negate the validity of the interest.

Even lampard has more experience than cooper who would not be my first choice anyway.

Dyche would be top of my list

If Ancelotti does leave for Madrid I can see the Everton job being very attractive for NES. If we are seriously trying for him we need to get our skates on.

Hence my post the other day...I was thinking it over and it crossed my mind that actually Roy may have been the party that decided time was up. We all know what a big job is ahead, and it could be that Hodgson didn't fancy it.

But gone he has...I'll get behind whoever Palace appoint.

Until they start losing
