I suspect Tekkers has taken another pay cut, his last contract extension cut his wages. Wilf does sulk but partly because he gets kicked to s*** week in week out with no protection from referees but more importantly, apart from McCarthy which team mate helps him out?

I have believed this for a while that Wilf is not helped out by his skipper.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

In today’s market, and with two years left on his contract, we should snap off any hand that offers anywhere in the region of £40M, even if we have to wave goodbye to 25% of it.
I think, like most, that his wages will be the issue. If he wants a move, he’ll have to accept a lower wage.
Tbh I can still see him at Arsenal, as long as he’s ok with being rotated with Saka and Pepe

I think with the rebuild needing to happen this could be the right time to get rid of him, for the right price, if we can sell him for 50 mil we still get 37.5 mil after the 25% to Man U.

Why keep a player who has lost interest in being here? For 37.5 mil I’m sure we can find a younger and hungrier player with bags of potential.

Isn't it a percentage of the DIFFERENCE between what we paid and what we get, in other words a percentage of our profit?

£85k/wk? And that’s on a good day. We’ll be lucky to see £40m. Very lucky. Maybe he would take a 40% cut. Benteke evidently took 60% cut.

According to multiple news outlets Wilf has told the club he wants to leave and hopes to seal a quick exit this summer.

Interesting to see what happens because unless we spend big (unlikely) the prospect of starting the season without him or Eze is terrifying.

And that’s news - he’s general demeanor, body language and attitude has been portraying that all season.

Look for me he is in the top 3 Palace players I have seen in my lifetime - but even I am sick and tired of his antics and general attitude.

IMO we’ve had/seen the best of Wilf - he’s not as quick as he was and his attitude is shocking - more interested in moaning and getting involved in unnecessary confrontations with the opposition then standing with the “double teapot” if/when things don’t go his way.

Must be a nightmare to play with.

If he wants to go, yeah thanks for the memories Wilf but off you go as now IMO his ego far outweighs his actual current talent and benefit to us as a player.

As I have said previously if Spurs came knocking - yep take him for £30M plus Ryan Sessegnon.

Wilf will then quickly learn that other clubs and fans will not put up with his inconsistency in terms of end product and general all round over inflated ego and petulance.

Im not trying to be funny, but who the f*** does he think he is " going to force a move " How the f*** does he think he can do that , by going on strike fine f*** off and go on strike , no he wont do that because he wont get paid . He is under contract to Palace and he will not be sold unless Steves valuation is made simple as that! he cant force f*** all till his contract allows him to . Maybe if he tried a bit harder and stopped all the drama on the pitch and arguing with Refs whinging and whinning all the time someone would make an offer Steve couldnt refuse .

What would be your guess to what we could expect?

I doubt anymore than £25-30m. He is probably worth more to us but not to any potential buyers. Having said that, Burnley value Chris Wood at £30m!

Agree with everyone’s sentiments.

Thanks for the memories Wilf. But that’s all they are now.
You’re not as good as you think you are. You’re a giant baby. I want rid of you.

I remember watching Wilf the season he got his move to Utd. He was something special but I thought like Ian Wright back in the day that he deserved to play for a big club.

However, he had a nightmare not just at Utd but also on his loan spell at Cardiff. He was a shadow of the player we all know.

He is a classic big fish in a little pond. I don't understand why his advisors are not telling him this. As others on this forum have mentioned, I just can't see one of the big boys in the premier league coming in for him and certainly not for mega money.

I would point to Yannick Bolasie, he was magic for couple of seasons, started thinking he was Ronaldo, forced a move and where is he now? He would have been a legend with us.

Wilf is a legend but he is fast losing this status with his lack lustre performances and what appears to be a terrible attitude to a club he was so thankful came and got him when he was going nowhere after the whole Utd debacle. He is so quick to forget how happy he was to be back (I remember an interview where he was beaming about being back at HIS club).

I never thought I would say this but we should just let him go. His performances and attitude now cause more problems than they solve. He could destabilise the dressing room too, which we can ill afford with a new manager about to come in.
just let him go and as others have said on here, 'Thanks for the memories Wilf'.

Say hello to Yannick for us.

He should have an honest word with his compatriot Gervinho. A bit older but got himself playing for a few decent clubs along the way.
I'm just wondering if Roy played him up front to put him in the shop window so to speak.
I've always said that if he wants off, then get the best fee possible, which given his age and general stroppiness we'd do well to get £30m.

Emile Smith Rowe hasn't signed a new contract. Straight swap for Wilf? I'd be happy with that. Thornton Heath boy too.

His dad went to school with Ian Wright apparently
