I can't believe that Parish would sign Lampard and then agree that he doesn't start until 1st July due to contractual restrictions. That would seriously impact on player recruitment at a time when we need to get cracking. Parish has said recently that no approach has been made for Dyche. So that leaves Nuno, Howe, Cooper and Valerian. Nuno is being sought by Everton and will probably go there. So if Parish wants some prem experience he hasto go for Howe who is at least available. However, if he has discounted Howe, or Howe doesn't want it, then he needs to decide between the two Championship guys and start negotiating their release from their existing contracts.

What I don't understand, is what is holding everything up and why wasn't this more or less sorted before Roy left?

We are waiting on Nuno, that’s what is holding everything up.
If he does not go Everton, then I reckon we will swoop. Of all the jobs available in the premier, ours is the least wanted. If spurs don’t get their First, Second, third or fourth targets, you never know Howe could be in the frame (or that’s their thinking). Transfers and the manager go round is a domino effect. Our appointment will likely come after spurs and Everton with the suitable candidates that are left. That’s football

Watched When Eagles Dare last night. Bit of a love in between Steve and Dougie so maybe he will be given a second chance to rebuild a team. Wouldn’t be surprised.

Not going to happen.

And if it was the case, why the delay in announcing it ?

Maybe to give us time to watch the documentary so those fans who hated Dougie for leaving can hear him voice his regrets and explain that he was young and foolish and influenced by Lennie Lawrence. Steve saying what a wonderful partnership we had. I should have made him want to stay. His team and his way got us promioted despite Ian Holloway tinkering. Sets the scene nicely for the return of the messiah.

Hopefully we will know soon!

Yes

Except I didn’t.

I said it is perfectly feasible that there is a period of time during which being seen to discuss, or signing, a deal may be financially unattractive.

I maybe wrong but is Frank not still picking up 75k per week from Chelsea since they parted ways . Why would he want to give that up. Maybe the reason he has not signed is that his solicitors are thrashing out the compensation package he will get from Chelski .

Yes !

Back to DF - he was not a success in his other managerial roles. I bear him no grudge at all but he's not the right man for the job.

Could be we wait on Nuno, but if we are I hope they have a solid fall back candidate. It would seem he has already got choices, and if he waits he will have more around Europe.?
The media, and us on this site have done all the obvious candidates. naturally, but the world is full of. Good ,manager coaches, maybe we look wider. We have before , not successfully maybe but we have the contacts. As Nuno, is not home grown anyway it’s not beyond us to spread the net a bit further for foreign talent.

All this discussion on managers smells pretty fishy to me.

Maybe need a Nu Nose

I suspect Conte has his eye on Everton job, hence no longer talking to Spurs

I just have a feeling its going to be DF with Shaun Derry as his assistant and a new DOF

Conte only takes jobs in which he has a realistic chance of winning trophies. That's by his own reported admission.

I wouldn't think Everton offer him more chance of doing that than Tottenham.

Apparently there was a disagreement regarding transfer funds at Spurs. Everton don’t seem to mind spending big, perhaps both parties believe they can buy success, just a hunch
