Having just watched “When Eagles Dare” - it’s proved to me how much Palace means to Parish and TBF Freedman and how committed they both are. It probably explains a lot why they had so much faith in Roy - in that whilst it weren’t pretty he got the job done. On that basis I can’t see Parish taking another “flyer” as in FDB - so Cooper or Ismael would be “no’s”..!! I think it’s going to be Dyche - suspect the issue is agreeing compensation with Burnley. Think all will be revealed in the next couple of days..!!! COYP

The Palace new manager is clearly an important event, but I didn't expect the G7 to convene over it. Needless to say they are head-hunting George Burley.

This has got a balls up written all over it . What we need is to get a manager on board PDQ so he can sort the player contract mess out ASAP and identify and bring in new recruits (if we have any dough). Then have a settled pre season and hit the ground running. What will probably happen is, we’ll fvck about with getting a new manager and then cock about trying to get new players in before the window shuts once the season has already started….after 8 seasons and about £1.2Bn quid, it’s beyond belief.

Could it be that our new manager will have the required red and blue blood. There is a man who cannot be mentioned for a little while. Step forward Gareth Southgate - who will also satisfy the requirement that a Palace Manager should be an ex-England Manager. No announcement can be made while the Euros are taking place (while England are still taking part). COYP

COYP Sorry I just cannot see this happening, If this was the case the tabloids would be on to this like this like a rat up a drainpipe you just couldn’t keep this locked up. The worrying aspect about all this speculation regarding the managers position at Palace apart from the Nuno talks, nothing is being mentioned in the tabloids, which I find strange. Surely Steve Parish cannot be holding his cards so close to his chest that even the papers don’t know anything. Hopefully fingers crossed something will happen this week.
