I for one would love to see this happen. He is young and hungry. Exactly what we need

Not a priority position at present. Once we've sorted defence and midfield and in the unlikely event we have any funds left, then perhaps we could go for him.

Well if he's hungry it's a done deal as Selhurst is a hot bed of culinary delight.

Agreed, although I'm not sure too many managers would play a front two at Palace next season, and given we have made what I guess is a reasonable investment in the centre forward position already in the shape of Benteke's contract, and I imagine the club will expect to see Beneteke play, buying Nketiah would be an expensive exercise in building squad options rather than signing a first-choice starter.

Surely we'd want Maitland-Niles as part of a deal instead? £20m cash plus him?

Or both in a straight swap?

The papers are now reporting we want one of Nketiah or Kasper Dolberg. Different sorts of players so the thinking here, if true, seems a bit muddled. Dolberg only signed for Nice a couple of years ago for Euro20 million and after a strong euros I imagine they'd want at least Euro30 million for him (probably more).

It's hard to really judge Nketiah as he has only really been a bit part player at Arsenal and when he was at Leeds. The reported £20 million fee (if true) seems quite a lot for a player with limited experience and with only 12 months left on his contract. On the plus side he is quick and his scoring record at England youth levels are impressive.

Personally I wouldn't be unhappy with either, but I think given the fact Nketiah grew up in Lewisham might appeal to Steve who seems to love his local connections. We could have a front four who all grew up within spitting distance of each other!

Zaha Eze Olise

Nketiah

The 20 million price tag for Nketiah is (I hope) a huge bit of wishful thinking from Arsenal. For a player who has potential but is out of contract next season and so far in his career has at best been a bit part player in both the Prem and Championship.

Less than 8m for me.

As others have said this would not seem a priority , certainly not to buy at 20mill. As he only has a year on his contract, maybe a loan, and a smaller fee to buy if he proves useful.? Leaving more cash for revamping the defence and mid field.

Not worth £20m IMHO. There must be better value elsewhere. Also, as I said previously, his is not a priority position for us to fill. We already have Benteke and Mateta vying for the sole striker role with Ayew as an adequate back-up as he showed in the season before last.

I want to see our midfield and defence strengthened before we even think about another striker.

I am totally in agreement.
