Worst game of the tournament so far. Please god never let Gareth Southgate become Palace manager. He's like a scout leader who's really PC and organises a mean "songs around the campfire evening" but that's it.

Another yawnfest from England. It's the way they're coached, straight out of the FA manual. Sideways and backwards passing, the patient build-up is so boring to watch. It was engrained in Ex England manager Hodgson too.

Respect the point. England are in the next round. Scotland are probably out without a win. They clearly targeted that game, their whole tournament was centred around getting a result against England. Czech Republic game will probably play out for a draw, both sides go through. England will avoid Germany/France/Portugal. We could have turned it up and got 3 points, but a level headed manager knows a point will do. Two holding mids probably weren't required but will be against better opposition. As for comparison with that laughing stock Woy. We won one game in a major tournament with him against Wales, in a fluke. Out in the first round of the WC, beaten by Iceland. There's no defending that joke of a human. You've conveniently forgotten Euro 2012 then, when Roy Hodgson's England went unbeaten, going out in the quarter-final against Italy on penalties. In the group stage, England won its group over France, Sweden and Ukraine with 2 wins and a draw.
Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes) |

Also, whether or not you like him as a manager (I do), not very nice to call him "that joke of a human".

So what your basically saying is Roy inherited a side in disarray , started off well, but over 4 years deteriorated and culminated with a clueless, negative performance against Iceland. Can’t help but feel I’ve experienced that…..

What a depressingly drab game. Maybe I'm wrong but it seemed that Scotland were playing with 10 men behind the ball for a large chunk of the game. Effective (to a point) way to play for a draw but England really should have sussed out their tactics early on and exploited it as any team of supposedly world class players would have done.
