Yes, good idea mate, but tell Boris, not me.If the elected government put the minimum wage up, then more people might be bothered to go and get a job , instead of doing just as well watching daytime tv!

You know my views on the minimum wage CP

Go ask UK fishermen, farmers, exporters to EU, financial service providers.....I'm sure they'll have a little message for you

When you say no pesky Eastern European’s CP, latest figures show close to 6million EU nationals have applied to live and work in the UK. I believe I am right in stating this figure foes not include those who already have indefinite leave to remain

Serious question CP, as the vote is for the possible breakup of the Union, do you think we should all have a vote? Personally I think we should

Its a good question mate, but i think as Scotland is its own country it should be confined to them alone, how would you vote spider?

I would vote for them to leave, let them do their own thing. If that makes me a flag waving nationalist, fine

I would to. Including the whole of gb to vote , is a bit like including the whole of the Eu to vote in our brexit vote, as we were all Eu countries-at the time.

Well clearly not 'decent' enough. Which is the point.

What freedom of movement did was effectively dangle a carrot to people from poorer European countries. Come to the UK, sleep 4 to a room and then, in 5 years time, you will have enough money to buy your own house back in your home village. Saw it time and time again, first with Poles and then of late, Romanaians.

Now I have zero problem with Poles and Romanains who did this. I believe that for a variety of reasons the UK needs people to come and live here and I would have happily retrained freedom of movement, with a few tweaks here and there, whilst banning/or making bloody difficult, non-EU migration into the UK which I see as the biggest threat long term.

But let's get one thing straight here. Freedom of movement allowed employees in the hospitality sector to get away with paying piss-poor wages. That simple. And now it has to change.

At the wages on offer. Start uping those and people will start applying. Its basic economic laws of supply and demand.

Perhaps mate, but it seems the amount of business owners moaning about lack of staff after brexit can"t be ignored, or papered over, theres a real problem there, and with the wetherspoons bloke in particular, I think he is eating humble pie!

I read yesterday something along the same lines of a Restaurant in Beverly Hills who were struggling to hire waiters, although the owner claimed that waiters at this establishment could easily earn 120K a year, now that isn't chump change.

Big apple to California Jim? You could commute on those wages and get an uber!
