Would anyone take Ranieri? The guy knows the Premier league and did well with Chelsea before they had Romans money and also did incredible with Leicester. Thoughts on the Tinkerman?

I haven't followed his career since Leicester. How's he been doing?

Hell yeah i would. He got a lot of fight out of those Leicester players so could do the same with ours.

This is a great shout! No idea why he's not been mentioned - considerably better than a few of the other options that have been banded around recently!!

Tactically I seem to remember him trying to keep it tight and nick goals on the counter attack. That quite typical Cattenacio Italian style. Might even suit our squad enough to keep us up. But I've no idea how he's been doing recently.

Ranieri has been manager of Sampdoria the last couple of seasons.
In his first season they finished 15th, after they were bottom when he took over.
Last season he took them up to 9th place.
He did not renew his contract and left the club.

Mega knowledge that willo. Must admit I really didn’t get along with your posts when we were in the standing/seating debates. I’ve enjoyed the willopedia knocking but you are here, respectful and post things like that which I expect no one else knew.. or at least not many… for what it’s worth and respecting confidences I have a pal at Leicester and he said ranieri arrived had a look around and said carry on. To the extent that his goalie coach went home to Italy.

This is most kind of you, thank you very much.

Apropos Goalkeeper coach, Mike Stowell was the coach when Ranieri was at Leicester, is still there and has been at the club for several years.

Regards Leicester, the season after they won the title it all went sour for Ranieri and he was relieved of his services after 25 PL games with the team in 17th place.
Craig Shakespeare took over as caretaker and they ended the season in 12th place.

It didn't work out for Claudio at Fulham, but they all have their successes and failures, I think the Fulham job puts people off, but the more I think of this the more the idea seems a good one. If there are betting moves I may keep the to myself after the last experience, I've been in shock for two days.
